Heteropolissacarídeo ácido isolado de oviduto-próstata de Megalobulimus paranaguensis
Resumo
Abstract: A polysaccharide was isolated from the oviduct-prostate of the snail Megalobulimus paranaguensis and purified by precipitation with Cetavlon and found to be homogeneous on chromatography on Bio-gel P-5 (millions). It was acidic with a neutral equivalent of 590 and contained approximately equimolar proportions of fucose, galactose, N-acetylglucosamine, and an uronic acid. Méthylation analysis indicated a branched structure with nonreducing end-groups of galactopyranose and 4-0-substituted residues of fucopyranose and 2-acetamido-2-deoxy-glucopyranose. 13C-n.m.r. analysis was consistent with B, a and a-glycosidic configurations respectively. Periodate oxidation data was consistent with those of the méthylation analysis and also indicated that uronic acid residues were resistant to oxidation. Aglutination with the lectins Tridacna gigas e Geodia cynodium, specific for nonreducing end-groups of (B?)-Q-galactopy-ranose, shows that the galactosyl units have the D-configuration. Other polysaccharides, even with remote structural similarities, have not been previously reported.
