História da África e dos africanos no ensino fundamental : análise de uma abordagem didática

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho, elaborado no âmbito do Programa de Ensino de História (ProfHistória), teve como objetivo analisar uma coleção de livros didáticos do Programa Nacional do Livro Didático, utilizada em escolas da rede pública, com foco na História da África e na História e Cultura afro-brasileira presentes no volume do 6º ano. A pesquisa buscou compreender quais conteúdos relativos à África e aos africanos são apresentados aos alunos e como o tema foi abordado. O livro foi tratado como fonte, tendo sido realizado levantamento dos textos e imagens, bem como as orientações do Manual do Professor. Durante a pesquisa foram selecionadas três vertentes de orientação teórico-metodológica, as propostas pelos autores da Coleção História Geral da África, publicada pela Unesco; a afrocentricidade, defendida por vários autores e a experiência africana na diáspora, de Stuart Hall. Juntamente com a análise do livro didático, foram propostas sugestões de ampliação do conteúdo com possibilidades de abordagem sobre o tema a fim de trazer para a sala de aula uma perspectiva fundamentada na centralidade da experiência africana. Abstract: The present work, made within the scope of the History Education Program - Programa de Ensino de História (ProfHistória) has as objective to analyse a collection of textbooks from the Textbook National Program (Programa Nacional do Livro Didático), used in schools of the Brazilian public system, focusing on the African History and the Afro-Brazilian History and Culture content in the sixth grade volume. The research sought to understand what contents are presented to the students and how the subject was approached. The book was treated as a source, a data collection of the content was made and the analysis of the texts and images present in the book as well as the Teacher's Manual's guidelines. During the research, three fields of theoretical and methodological orientation were selected, which converge to the currently curricular regulations currently in the country: those proposition created by the authors of the General History of Africa Collection, published by Unesco; the afrocentricity, defended by several authors and the African experience in the diaspora, by Stuart Hall. Along with the analysis of the textbook, suggestions were proposed to expand the content with possibilities of approach on the theme in order to bring to the classroom a perspective based on the centrality of the African experience.
