Estudo da adequação dos índices da análise econômico-financeira às empresas florestais, utilizando métodos estatísticos multivariados

Abstract

Resumo: Existem diversos métodos para a análise econômico-financeira das empresas. Dentre eles, por diversas razões, o mais empregado é o da análise pelo emprego de índices. Uma pesquisa na bibliografia brasileira especializada possibilitou identificar mais de duas centenas de índices diferentes. Contudo, a sua seleção, pelo do critério de emprego pelo maior número de autores, reduziu-os para vinte e seis índices. Em face das características operacionais específicas das empresas florestais pressupôs-se que o emprego daqueles índices, de uso generalizado na análise econômico-financeira de empresas quaisquer, não fosse adequado para a análise das empresas florestais. Tal pressuposto decorre do ciclo operacional relativamente longo das empresas florestais, quando confrontado com o ciclo operacional, relativamente curto, das demais empresas. Pressupôs-se que esta diferença entre os ciclos operacionais resultaria em desempenhos econômicofinanceiros, bem como em condições patrimoniais totalmente diversos. Os índices de análise econômico-financeira são desenvolvidos para a análise de empresas quaisquer, de ciclos operacionais curtos, do que decorre tal pressuposto. Embora tenha iniciado o seu desenvolvimento há mais de cem anos, a estatística multivariada é de uso recente. Tal demora no desenvolvimento e uso derivou das dificuldades operacionais para efetuar cálculos vetoriais e matriciais de muitas variáveis, sem os recursos da informática. Assim, esta ferramenta estatística só iniciou efetivamente seu processo de pleno desenvolvimento teórico e aplicativo a partir da década de sessenta do século passado, quando os recursos computacionais viabilizaram cálculos até então extremamente trabalhosos e de execução impraticável, quando não até mesmo impossível. Dentre outros, um dos algoritmos de grande utilidade para a pesquisa é fornecido pela análise fatorial. Essa técnica extrai as informações sobre a estrutura de covariância, resumida na matriz de correlação, e possibilita classificar essas variáveis originais segundo a sua participação na variância total dos dados. Isso posto, esta pesquisa investigou, com o uso da análise fatorial, em que medida os índices usualmente empregados para a análise econômico-financeira de empresas quaisquer, podem ser empregados na análise das empresas florestais. Os vinte e seis índices foram aplicados sobre os balanços de duzentas e trinta e sete empresas, constituídas sob a modalidade jurídica de sociedades anônimas de capital aberto, dentre as quais três empresas madeireiras e oito empresas produtoras de papel e celulose. Não existem, no Brasil, empresas constituídas sob esta modalidade jurídica que se dediquem exclusivamente à produção de madeira e, assim, a pesquisa foi conduzida em relação a estas onze empresas ligadas à área florestal, três madeireiras e oito produtoras de papel e celulose. Obteve-se, assim, uma matriz de dados de duzentas e trinta e sete linhas por vinte e seis colunas sobre a qual aplicaram-se as técnicas estatísticas multivariadas, em particular a análise fatorial. O resultado mostrou que alguns destes vinte e seis índices não são adequados à análise daquelas onze empresas ligadas à área florestal.

Abstract: There are many methods for the economic and financial analysis of the companies. Among them, for many reasons, the most used one is the Analyses Through the Index. A research in the specialized Brazilian bibliography enabled to identífy more than two hundreds of different indexes. Although, it's selection by the usage criterion for the biggest number of authors reduced them into twenty six indexes. From the specific operational features of forestry companies iVs assumed that the usage of those indexes of generalized use in the economic and financial analysis of any company, it isn't adequate for the forestry companies analysis. This fact elapses from the operational cycle, relatively short, from the other companies. It's assumed that this difference between the operational cycles, would result in economic and financial performance, as well as in totally diverse patrimonial conditions. Now, the analysis index of economic and financial are developed for any company from short operational cycles, from were elapses the assurance. Although it has initiated it's development for more than a hundred years, the multivariate statistics is the recently usage. This delay in the development and usage derived from the operational difficulty to effect vectorial and matrix of many variables calculation without the computerized resource. Thus, this statistical tool just initiate iVs factually process of complete theoretical and applicable development from the last century fifties, when the computerized resources feasibility calculation up to there extremely difficult and of impracticable execution, when even though impossible. Among others, one of the algorithms, of big utility for the research, given by the factorial analysis. This technique let classify them according to iVs participation in the totally variable data Therefore, this research investigated, with the factorial analysis usage, measured the indexes usually used for the economic and financial of any company, can be used in the analysis of forestry companies. Twenty six indexes were applied on the balance of two hundred and thirty seven companíes built up the legal modality of anonymous society of open capital, within which three wood companies, and eight paper and cellulose producer companies. There aren't in Brazil companies constituted on the legal modality of anonymous society of open capital, that are dedicate exclusively to the wood production and thus this research was conducted in relation of these eleven companies linked to the forestry area, three wood companies and eight paper and cellulose producers. Though this obtained a data matrix of two hundred thirty seven lines by twenty six columns about which applied the statistical multivariate techniques, in particular the factorial analysis. The result showed that some of this twenty six indexes are not adequate to the analysis of those eleven companies linked to the forestry area.
