Abstract : The aim of this study is to evaluate the possibility of improvements in the working conditions in a resistance welding station in the welding area in an automotive company located in the state of Paraná. It was obtained as a case study using the method of Ergonomic Work Analysis (EWA). Initially, there was performed a semistructured interview with the operators of the production line, during which workers could outline what the stations were more comfortable and less comfortable to work as well as make suggestions for improvements to the toughest jobs. The analysis of the data obtained in the interviews pointed to a station that was considered the most discomfort for the worker. With the operator of this station, more unfavorable, studies were performed using the method of analysis of Michigan University and Surface Electromyography. The results of the analyzes, along with the responses obtained in the interviews, allowed to highlight some specific activities for which operators perceived work overload, which motivated the search for solutions to reduce discomfort in this situation of work. Proposals for improving this situation of work were presented at the end of the study
