Rodofíceas marinhas insulares do litoral paranaense.

Abstract

Macroalgas marinhas são organismos de grande relevância ecológica, sendo que são base de teias tróficas, e econômica, sendo utilizadas em diversos setores industriais. O objetivo deste estudo foi realizar um levantamento específico de macroalgas marinhas vermelhas (Rhodophyta) em três ilhas do litoral do Paraná: Ilha do Mel, Ilha do Farol e Arquipélago de Currais. As amostragens foram realizadas durante o inverno e o verão de 2009 e 2010 em zonas de médio e infralitoral. Foram listadas 20 espécies na ilha do Mel, 31 na Ilha do Farol e 33 no Arquipélago de Currais, totalizando 56 taxa distintos para o Estado. Ceramiales foi a ordem mais representativa com 24 espécies, correspondendo a 42,8% do total da listagem. A família de maior representatividade foi Ceramiaceae, com 12 taxa registrados. Onze espécies, aproximadamente 20% da listagem total, são registros inéditos para o Estado. Dentre os gêneros estudados, Ceramium, Centroceras, Aglaothamnion e Hypnea foram os que apresentaram distribuição mais ampla no litoral paranaense, tendo sido registrados nos três pontos amostrados. As análises de MDS e Cluster apresentaram alta similaridade entre as Ilhas do Farol e do Mel e entre as estações do ano. Entretanto, o Arquipélago de Currais possui diversidade ficoflorística distinta das outras ilhas. Este fato pode ser explicado, em parte, por esta ilha ser oceânica, afastada da costa e estar sujeita a menor influência do aporte de sedimentos provenientes dos sistemas estuarinos da região. Este estudo contribuiu para aumentar a lista taxonômica das macroalgas insulares da costa paranaense.

Abstract: Seaweeds are organisms of great ecological role, sustaining many food webs, and of economic relevance, being used in several industrial processes. This study is an inventory of red seaweeds (Rhodophyta) from three islands on Paraná coast, Southern Brazil: Ilha do Mel, Ilha do Farol and Arquipélago de Currais. Samples were collected during winter and summer of 2009 and 2010. During these surveys 20 species were recorded on Ilha do Mel, 31 on Ilha do Farol, and 33 on the Arquipélago de Currais, comprising a total of 56 distinct taxa of rhodophytes for the State. Ceramiales was the most representative order presenting 24 species wich represented about 42,8% of the total diversity. The most representative family was Ceramiaceae, with 12 taxa recorded .Eleven species, around 20% of the entire list, were new records for the State. Among the genus studied, Ceramium, Centroceras, Aglaothamnion and Hypnea were broadly distributed along the Paraná coast, being registered on all sampled sites. The MDS and Cluster analysis showed high similarity between the phycophlora of Farol and Mel Islands and between seasons. However, Arquipélago de Currais has distinct diversity when compared to the other islands. This could be partially associated with geographic and geomorphological features, since this island is oceanic and away from the coast, being less influenced by suspended sediments and organic matter from nearby estuaries. This work contributes to update and enhance the seaweed diversity for the Islands of Paraná coast. Key-words: Seaweed; Rhodophyta; biodiversity; floristic survey; Southwestern Atlantic.
