This work intends, through practical activity, comics and illustrations, and the use of the Scratch software, when approaching the subject of electricity with homemade batteries, to investigate the potential of such strategies in classes of final years of elementary school, especially 9th grade students, starting from an experiment, and following a sequence of classes. During the practical class, the students assembled the different batteries with different substances to discuss concepts related to the physical chemistry of the electric energy generation process. Using a multimeter, they made voltage measurements, answered the questions in the experiment script, associated the batteries in series and verified the new value by the multimeter, discussed and tested ways to connect an LED with the batteries built, thus establishing a meaning to the measured value and associating it with everyday applications. After discussing concepts of electricity, students expose their creativity in making comics and elaborating illustrations, in order to describe the procedure and portray the scheme of the assemblies, their results and discoveries promoted by the experience. With Scratch, they created a digital narrative via block programming, and in addition to incorporating what they learned throughout the classes, they perfected their logical reasoning when thinking about how to communicate to the computer what to do in their animations using the program's code blocks. By adopting different methods and resources in the teaching of scientific topics, students have the possibility of being interested in the content in a different way, as they improve and develop specific attitudes and skills of the method, build new knowledge and become more active during learning
