This work explores the mathematics and physics of General Relativity, with an emphasis on the study of singularities theorems that naturally arise within the theory. Unlike other physical theories in which the structure of spacetime is predefined, General Relativity determines the geometry of spacetime through Einstein’s field equations. This makes the definition of singularities, regions where physical and geometric quantities may diverge, a nontrivial task. The work addresses the definition of singularity in the way it is commonly used in the theorems, that is, based on causal curves and their properties. It then focuses on the analysis of two singularity theorems analogous to those of Penrose- Hawking, which provide a robust understanding of the inevitability of singularities in the theory under certain conditions. These theorems show that, in physically plausible scenarios, the existence of singularities is a geometric consequence inherent to the very structure of General Relativity
