Estes controles foram reconhecidos nas escalas microscópica, mesoscópica e regional Abstract: Gold mining was a major driving force in the process of territorial occupation of eastern Paraná, between the late 16th and 17th centuries. The present work aimed to identify gold mining areas in this process of historical occupation, relating these data with the cartography and available geological literature, and verifying possible connections between the mines and the geodynamic evolution of eastern Parana. The data collected were compiled and analyzed in the GIS environment. Georeferenced maps present the locations of historical deposits with available prospecting and geological survey information. Main factors conditioned the gold occurrences in the study region where miners worked on plio-quaternary sedimentary deposits. These deposits were interpreted as alluvial and alluvial fans, over several watersheds that mostly flow into Paranaguá Bay. These basins drain lithological units with different lithotectonic, metamorphic and structural patterns identifies in the Paranaguá and Luís Alves terrains, as well as on neoproterozoic granitic and syenitic intrusions from the Graciosa Province. These areas are located within an orogenic domain, extending from the Archean-Transamazonian Cycle (Luís Alves Terrain), with the collage in the Gondwana Supercontinent into the Neoproterozoic (Paranaguá Terrain), with later late-post-collision syenogranite intrusions. Structural controls, associated with ductile-brittle shear zones, retrometamorphic changes and hydrothermal processes, seem to be the main factors that control the primary auriferous occurrences in the region. These controls were recognized at the microscopic, mesoscopic and regional scales
