Mobilidade e permanência : um estudo sobre as dinâmicas migratórias haitianas em Curitiba e região metropolitana (2010-2024)

Abstract

Resumo: A presente tese tem como tema central analisar a mobilidade e a permanência de imigrantes haitianos e haitianas em Curitiba e Região Metropolitana, entre 2010 e 2024, no contexto das migrações Sul-Sul. A problemática decorre do fato do grupo ser considerado de uma cultura diaspórica, fator que reflete em seus deslocamentos e a forma como vivem (Joseph, 2015), de forma que importa compreender como e porque, eles e elas vieram para o Brasil a partir de 2010. Mais do que isso, entender suas movimentações pelo país e principalmente o que os levou a permanecer na região investigada, dado que a literatura estudada indica que esse coletivo de migrantes tem na mobilidade uma de suas principais características. Mesmo considerando o trânsito por diferentes países, estabelecer-se nos locais de destino é também uma realidade para esse grupo diaspórico, daí a importância da permanência como foco de análise, como defendo nesta tese. O recorte investigado é analisado em relação a outras regiões do Brasil, comparação para a qual a documentação gerada por registros administrativos disponíveis através dos relatórios do Observatório da Migrações Internacionais (OBMigra) é utilizada como fonte secundária. A fonte principal são entrevistas produzidas com haitianos e haitianas, usando como ferramenta metodológica a História Oral. O trabalho está estruturado em quatro capítulos: no primeiro abordo as migrações contemporâneas no Brasil e Região Sul; no segundo, reflexões teórico-metodológicas sobre o uso da História Oral e produção de narrativas; no terceiro, são apresentadas as discussões sobre a diáspora haitiana a partir da obra de estudiosos sobre o tema e do que os entrevistados e entrevistadas elaboram; no quarto e último capítulo, os entrevistados são questionados sobre: ser imigrante, arranjos familiares, mobilidade e permanência. A presente investigação situa-se no âmbito dos debates contemporâneos da História do Tempo Presente (HTP), da História Oral e dos Estudos Migratórios ancorando-se em autores como Alistair Thomson (2002), Michel Agier (2016), Abdelmalek Sayad (1998), Alessandro Portelli (1996), Walter Benjamin (1991; 1994), Handerson Joseph (2015; 2017), Marieta de Moraes Ferreira (2000), Rosana Baeninger (2016) e Márcio Oliveira (2015), entre outros(as) pesquisadores(as) cujas contribuições são fundamentais para os campos da História Oral, dos Estudos Migratórios e da própria HTP

Abstract: This thesis focuses on analyzing the mobility and permanence of Haitian immigrants in Curitiba and its Metropolitan Region between 2010 and 2024, within the context of South-South migrations. The central issue arises from the fact that this group is considered part of a diasporic culture, a factor that influences their movements and way of life (Joseph, 2015). Consequently, it is important to understand how and why they came to Brazil starting in 2010. Furthermore, it is crucial to understand their movements within the country and, especially, what led them to settle in the investigated region, given that the literature studied indicates that mobility is one of the main characteristics of this migrant collective. Even considering their transit through different countries, settling in their destination places is also a reality for this diasporic group, hence the importance of analyzing permanence as a focus, as I argue in this thesis. The investigated area, Curitiba and its Metropolitan Region, is analysed in relation to other regions of Brazil. For this comparison, documentation generated from administrative records available through reports from the Observatory of International Migrations (OBMigra) is used as a secondary source. The primary source consists of interviews conducted with Haitian men and women. For this, the methodological tool employed was Oral History. The work is structured into four chapters: the first addresses contemporary migrations in Brazil and the Southern Region; the second presents theoretical-methodological reflections on the use of Oral History and the production of narratives; the third chapter presents discussions on the Haitian diaspora, based on the work of scholars on the topic, while this bibliography contributes to the analysis of the narratives elaborated by the interviewees; in the fourth and final chapter, the interviewees are questioned about: being an immigrant, transnational family arrangements, mobility, and permanence. This investigation is situated within the scope of contemporary debates in History of the Present Time (HTP), anchored in the theoretical and methodological contributions of authors such as Alistair Thomson (2002), Michel Agier (2016), Abdelmalek Sayad (1998), Alessandro Portelli (1996), Walter Benjamin (1991; 1994), Handerson Joseph (2015; 2017), Marieta de Moraes Ferreira (2000), Rosana Baeninger (2016), and Márcio Oliveira (2015), among other researchers whose contributions are fundamental to the fields of Oral History, Migration Studies, and HTP itself
