A indústria madeireira e sua dinâmica locacional no espaço urbano de Ponta Grossa - PR

Abstract

Resumo: A indústria madeireira iniciou suas atividades em Ponta Grossa já no final do século XIX. Nos anos cinqüenta ela apresentou sua fase mais próspera e após um período de estagnação, vem vivenciando na última década uma fase bastante dinâmica. Por ser tradicional e apresentar subgêneros com características diversificadas, tem apresentado uma intensa mobilidade no espaço intra-urbano. O presente trabalho visa, assim, identificar e caracterizar a dinâmica locacional destas indústrias no espaço urbano ponta-grossense. Para tanto, o estudo sistematiza algumas reflexões teóricas relacionadas à questão locacional de indústrias, reconstitui o processo evolutivo da industrialização da cidade, avalia a dinâmica espacial da indústria e o papel do poder público como agente indutor desta, analisa os fatores que influenciaram na localização e relocalização dos estabelecimentos industriais madeireiros, estabelece um padrão locacional para a industria madeireira e aponta as especificidades locacionais de seus subgêneros

Abstract: The lumber industry of Ponta Grossa has started its activities in the end of the 19th century. Its most prosperous period was during the fifties. Afterwards it passed through a period of stagnation that was only reversed by a very active development in the last decade. With its traditional production features and a very diverse distribution of its sub-branches, it has shown an intensive mobility within the intra-urban field. This research intends to identify and characterize the local dynamics of the lumber industry of Ponta Grossa. For this purpose, the study elaborates some theoretical and systematic reflections on the localization aspect of the industrial process. In this context, it reconstructs the general industrialization process in the urban environment of the city. It also evaluates the local dynamics of the industry and the role of public agencies as active participants in this process. Furthermore, it analyzes several elements that have influence on the localization and relocalization of the industrial lumber enterprises. Based on these results, the research proposes a spatial distribution model of the lumber industry and indicates local specifications of its different subbranches
