Abstract: The aims of this study were: to determine the efficiency of diferente activeingredients of commercial herbicides on weed control in Eucalyptus grandis x Eucalyptusurophylla clonal planting, with and without preemergence product reapplication andevaluate their phytotoxic effects on seedlings, and create a Selection Index, that wouldenable the selection of best treatments, when these have similar or statistically similarcontrol efficiency. The research was conducted in Telêmaco Borba, state of Paraná,Brazil, in 2018, from March to December. 27 combinations of herbicide management, with and without preemergence product reapplication were evaluated. The activeingredients tested were: glyphosate, isoxaflutole, flumioxazin, indaziflam, carfentrazoneethyl, saflufenacil and clomazone. Visual phytotoxicity evaluations were performed 10days after planting and 10 days after the first preemergence reassembly in the selectedsample. Control efficiency evaluations were performed every 40 Days After Application(DAA) until eucalyptus canopy closure. The variables total height, stem diameter andvolume were measured at 0, 40, 80, 120, 160, 200, 240 and 280 days planting. The secondaplication of the pre-emergent application area was performed 120 after the firstapplication. The biomass of weeds in the rows between seedlings was collected at 240days. A Selection Index was tested for the 27 treatments. The preemergent herbicidestested did not cause visual phytotoxicity in the eucalyptus clone. Statistical analyzesrevealed significant differences between treatments for weed control and eucalyptusgrowth. It can be concluded that the active ingredients were efficient to control weeds inthe área of study; remodeling with preemergence in total area and postemergence betweenrows showed no visual symptoms of phytotoxicity in the studied eucalyptus; thetreatments that were dated at 120 DAA had a higher weed control efficiency until the endof the analyzed period; initial weed control directly affected eucalyptus initial growth. The Selection Index allowed the separation and visualization of the treatments in 6classification ranges, and treatment 23 (glyphosate + flumioxazin+ carfentrazone-ethyl +preemergence product reapplication) presents the highest Selection Index (42.46).
