Resumo: Esta tese analisa a trajetória intelectual e literária de Moacyr Félix, investigando o tensionamento entre humanismo, catolicismo e marxismo, e suas implicações na produção cultural e política da sociedade brasileira. A pesquisa argumenta que sua formação inicial em um ambiente católico exerceu influência determinante em sua visão de mundo, fornecendo-lhe uma base humanista que, posteriormente, foi reelaborada em diálogo com o marxismo e o existencialismo. A tese demonstra como esse percurso intelectual moldou sua atuação como poeta, editor e crítico, consolidando sua posição como mediador entre diferentes tradições do pensamento de esquerda. Sua produção poética dialoga com as transformações históricas do Brasil e com as tensões dentro do campo intelectual da esquerda. Nos anos 1950 e 1960, sua obra se alinhava ao projeto nacional-popular, utilizando temas voltados à luta social. Com a fragmentação da esquerda e o esgotamento do modelo nacional-popular nos anos 1970 e 1980, sua poesia refletiu um crescente isolamento político e estético, evidenciando as dificuldades de se manter um pensamento humanista e engajado no período da redemocratização. A pesquisa também analisa sua produção editorial e crítica, destacando sua participação na editora Civilização Brasileira e na revista Paz e Terra, espaços que buscaram articular um diálogo entre diferentes correntes intelectuais. A partir de referenciais teóricos como Pierre Bourdieu, Raymond Williams e Lucien Goldmann, a tese investiga como sua trajetória sintetiza não apenas suas escolhas individuais, mas também as transformações estruturais da intelectualidade de esquerda no Brasil. Por fim, a pesquisa contribui para os debates sobre a relação entre estudos literários e sociologia da cultura e dos intelectuais, demonstrando como as opções formais e temáticas de Félix foram diretamente influenciadas pelos tensionamentos do campo político e cultural brasileiroAbstract: This thesis analyzes the intellectual and literary trajectory of Moacyr Félix, investigating the tension between humanism, Catholicism and Marxism, and its implications for the cultural and political production of Brazilian society. The research argues that his early education in a Catholic environment had a decisive influence on his worldview, providing him with a humanist basis that was later reworked in dialog with Marxism and existentialism. The thesis shows how this intellectual path shaped his work as a poet, editor and critic, consolidating his position as a mediator between different traditions of left-wing thought. His poetic production dialogues with Brazil's historical transformations and with the tensions within the intellectual field of the left. In the 1950s and 1960s, his work was aligned with the national-popular project, using themes focused on social struggle. With the fragmentation of the left and the exhaustion of the national-popular model in the 1970s and 1980s, his poetry reflected a growing political and aesthetic isolation, highlighting the difficulties of maintaining a humanist and engaged thought in the period of redemocratization. The research also analyzes his editorial and critical production, highlighting his participation in the publishing house Civilização Brasileira and the magazine Paz e Terra, spaces that sought to articulate a dialogue between different intellectual currents. Based on theoretical references such as Pierre Bourdieu, Raymond Williams and Lucien Goldmann, the thesis investigates how his trajectory synthesizes not only his individual choices, but also the structural transformations of left-wing intellectuality in Brazil. Finally, the research contributes to the debates on the relationship between literary studies and the sociology of culture and intellectuals, demonstrating how Félix's formal and thematic choices were directly influenced by the tensions in the Brazilian political and cultural field
