O lazer no Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos da Grande Curitiba (1977-2024)

Abstract

Resumo: O Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos da Grande Curitiba (SMC), criado há mais de cem anos, é um dos maiores sindicatos da região sul do Brasil. No seu acervo existe vasta documentação que permite a realização de diferentes temas de pesquisa. Nesta dissertação o foco de estudo está voltado para as políticas de lazer que foram implementadas pela entidade no período de 1977 a 2024. Para a análise dessas políticas, voltadas prioritariamente às atividades de lazer e que visavam a mobilização de seus membros em prol da luta sindical, foram selecionados dois corpus documentais distintos. De um lado, recorremos à documentação escrita e visual existente tanto no acervo do Sindicato quanto em acervos externos, composta sobretudo por livros de atas, jornais, panfletos e material fotográfico; e de outro, a um conjunto de entrevistas, coletadas a partir da metodologia da história oral. Estas entrevistas foram realizadas com pessoas que estiveram filiadas à entidade, no período de análise proposto. No que diz respeito ao referencial teórico-metodológico, o diálogo com autores que problematizam o conceito de lazer, como os sociólogos Joffre Dumazedier, Norbert Elias e Eric Dunning, contribuíram para o nosso entendimento sobre as políticas de lazer que foram colocadas em prática pelo SMC. Do mesmo modo, as reflexões sobre memória e história oral realizadas por autores como Alessandro Portelli, Michael Pollak e Joel Candau foram fundamentais para a análise das fontes. Pretendemos, com nosso trabalho, ampliar os estudos tanto do lazer no Brasil quanto do SMC e da relação entre lazer e organizações sindicais de modo geral

Abstract: The Metalworkers Union of Greater Curitiba (SMC), created more than a hundred years ago, is one of the largest unions in the southern region of Brazil. Its collection contains extensive documentation that allows different research topics to be carried out. In this dissertation the focus of study is the leisure policies that were implemented by the entity in the period from 1977 to 2024. For the analysis of these policies, focused primarily on the area of sports and aimed at mobilizing its members in favor of the struggle union, two distinct documentary corpuses were selected. On the one hand, we resorted to written and visual documentation existing both in the Union's collection and in external collections, composed mainly of minutes books, newspapers, pamphlets and photographic material; and on the other, to a set of interviews, collected using the methodology of oral history. These interviews were carried out with people who were affiliated with the entity during the proposed analysis period. With regard to the theoretical-methodological framework, the dialogue with authors who problematize the concept of leisure, such as sociologists Joffre Dumazedier, Norbert Elias and Eric Dunning, contributed to our understanding of the leisure policies that were put into practice by the SMC. In the same way, the reflections about memory and oral history made by authors such as Alessandro Portelli, Michael Pollak and Joel Candau were fundamental to the analysis of the sources. We intend, with our work, to expand the studies of both leisure in Brazil and the SMC and the relationship between leisure and trade union organizations in general
