Violência, ditadura civil-militar e manicômios no testemunho de Sylvia de Montarroyos (1964–2013)

Abstract

Resumo: Prisão, tortura e internamento psiquiátrico compulsório aos 17 anos. Em "Réquiem por Tatiana: Memórias de um tempo de guerra e de uma descida aos infernos" (2013), Sylvia de Montarroyos, ex-militante do Partido Operário Revolucionário Trotskista (POR-T) narra como foi tornar-se vítima da Ditadura Civil-Militar em novembro de 1964, em Recife-PE. Sua história é uma peça no mosaico que compõe um fenômeno interessante e pouco estudado pela historiografia: o internamento de presos políticos em instituições psiquiátricas pelo governo ditatorial. A pesquisa busca compreender os motivos e impactos desse fenômeno através da experiência traumática de Sylvia por meio de sua escrita testemunhal, explorando a tortura como projeto político, suas consequências psicológicas, a instrumentalização das instituições psiquiátricas pela ditadura como parte do aparato repressivo e a relevância do testemunho para a ressignificação e possível sublimação do trauma

Abstract: Prison, torture and compulsory psychiatric hospitalization at the age of 17. In "Requiem for Tatiana: Memories of a time of war and a descent into hell" (2013), Sylvia de Montarroyos, a former militant of the Trotskyist Revolutionary Workers’ Party (POR-T), narrates what it was like to become a victim of the Civil-Military Dictatorship in November 1964, in Recife-PE. Her story is a piece in the mosaic that makes up an interesting phenomenon that has been little studied by historiography: the internment of political prisoners in psychiatric institutions by the dictatorial government. The research seeks to understand the reasons and impacts of this phenomenon through Sylvia’s traumatic experience through her testimonial writing, exploring torture as a political project, its psychological consequences, the instrumentalization of psychiatric institutions by the dictatorship as part of the repressive apparatus and the relevance of testimony for the resignification and possible sublimation of trauma
