Exército Zapatista de Libertação Nacional : as reinvenções de tradições históricas em sua práxis (1994-2001)

Abstract

Resumo: A presente pesquisa tem como objeto as reivindicações e ressignificações históricas apresentadas nos documentos do Exército Zapatista de Libertação Nacional (EZLN), assim como o local que a organização da região de Chiapas assume para si. Para isso, se empregarão como fontes os cinco volumes de documentos presentes na coleção EZLN: Documentos y Comunicados, englobando os manifestos, notas, declarações e proclamações escritas pela organização, no período de 1994 até 2001. Por meio dela se utilizará enquanto ferramenta metodológica a perspectiva da invenção das tradições, como cunhada por Eric Hobsbawm e Terence Ranger, a fim de investigar a maneira com que o movimento traça linhas conectivas dentre diferentes tradições de luta e resistência, que desembocariam no próprio EZLN. Assim, se priorizou a análise das tradições indígenas, marxistas e zapatistas clássicas enquanto centrais na constituição desta "herança" revolucionária. Deste modo, utilizando-se também dos conceitos de Hegemonia e Práxis, como estabelecidos por Antonio Gramsci, também se objetivou averiguar de que forma o movimento chiapaneco buscou efetuar uma disputa histórico-cultural no panorama mexicano, através de sua tradição inventada

Abstract: The present research focuses on the claims and historical re-significations presented in the documents of the Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN), as well as the position that the organization from the Chiapas region assumes. For this purpose, the five volumes of documents in the collection EZLN: Documentos y Comunicados, which encompass manifestos, notes, declarations, and proclamations written by the organization from 1994 to 2001, will be used as sources. Through this, the methodological tool of the Invention of Traditions perspective, as coined by Eric Hobsbawm and Terence Ranger, will be applied to investigate how the movement draws interconnections among different traditions of struggle and resistance that culminate in the EZLN itself. Thus, priority has been given to analyzing indigenous, Marxist, and classic Zapatista traditions as central to the constitution of this revolutionary heritage.
