Contribuições socioeconômicas da implantação do IFPR - Campus Telêmaco Borba

Abstract

Resumo: Diante da importância dos institutos e universidades públicas para o desenvolvimento econômico e social das regiões em que se inserem, esta dissertação procura analisar as possíveis contribuições socioeconômicas decorrentes da implantação do Instituto Federal do Paraná na cidade de Telêmaco Borba, município localizado na região dos Campos Gerais do estado do Paraná, que de acordo com o censo realizado em 2020, pelo Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística, possuía 75.042 habitantes. A finalidade da pesquisa é apresentar os possíveis benefícios para a região, a partir da instalação de uma instituição federal de ensino, tanto no âmbito econômico quanto social. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida a partir de estudos bibliográficos e exploratórios sobre o tema em questão, contou com a análise dos indicadores socioeconômicos do município e dados secundários obtidos em consulta pública ao IFPR. Os resultados da pesquisa vão ao encontro com as perspectivas de que o IFPR, como uma instituição pública de ensino técnico e superior, além de contribuir significativamente para o desenvolvimento educacional, também coopera para a transformação socioeconômica da região em que está inserido.

Abstract: Given the importance of public institutes and universities for the economic and social development of the regions in which they are located, this dissertation seeks to analyze the possible socioeconomic contributions arising from the implementation of the Federal Institute of Paraná in the city of Telêmaco Borba, a municipality located in the Campos Gerais region. of the state of Paraná, which according to the census carried out in 2020, by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, had 75,042 inhabitants. The purpose of the research is to present the possible benefits for the region, from the installation of a federal educational institution, both in the economic and social spheres. The research was developed based on bibliographic and exploratory studies on the topic in question, it included the analysis of the municipality's socioeconomic indicators and secondary data obtained in a public consultation with the IFPR. The results of the research are in line with the perspectives that IFPR, as a public institution of technical and higher education, in addition to contributing significantly to educational development, also contributes to the socioeconomic transformation of the region in which it is located.
