An integrated network management system is a tool for controlling and monitoring of large computer networks. Most management systems follows the Manager-Agent paradigm, in which a central network management station uses a management protocol like SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) to communicate with a set of agents, which are distributed through the network. In this work we present the Delegado SNMP which is an intermediary management entity located between manager and an agent. This entity allows the contruction of distributed network management systems which employ distributed monitoring. The Delegado SNMP has been implemented as a SNMP MIB (Management Information Base) in which a dynamic table has each entry corresponding to a thread whose task is to monitor a given object or a given agent. Based on logical expressions of the values of the monitored objects the Delegado SNMp may emit alarms. A manager distribute de monitoring tasks by configuring through SNMP applications a proper entry on the Delegado MIB table. We present an implementation of the Adaptative-DSD algorithm based on the Delegado SNMP as an example application.en
