The main objective of an electrical power system operation is the supplement of its energy market taking care quality, continuity and economy requisites as much for normal operation as for emergency. However, previous studies must be realized to guide the system operator into the corrective measures that reestablish the operational criteria demanded by the system dispatcher when occurs some kind of contingency. Some of these measures are referring to the load curtailment. Thus, the present work presents a methodology that optimize the load shedding where the analyst can have a vision of most problematic areas of the system, can limit them as their importance and, making relaxation of the minimum voltage limits and the maximum active power flows through the transformers, can establish different stages for the load shedding. Or either, if we admit that some limits are violated by only some hours, it can be cut fewer loads than it would be necessary if these violations were not considered. If the contingency analyzed stop inside some hours, it will be avoided unnecessary load shedding, admitting only small violations. This methodology was tested using a 291-bus system that is an equivalent of the Copel Region and that contains all network of 525 kV, 230 kV, 138 kV and 69 kV, eyond the frontier buses
