Resumo: Este trabalho resulta de uma etnografia realizada entre os anos de 2018-2022, que teve por objetivo analisar a instituição do tribunal do júri. O objetivo inicial da pesquisa era compreender o modo como os oficiantes deste espaço estrategicamente desqualificam a parte contrária e suas teses em plenário, contudo, conforme a pesquisa avançou, percebeuse que, para além das interações estratégicas que ocorrem durante o julgamento, o júri se trata de um ritual judiciário que institui distinções hierarquizantes das mais variadas, seja entre os profissionais jurídicos que reivindicam a identidade de "tribuno" ou aqueles que se submetem ao rito enquanto jurados, acusados, vítimas e testemunhas. Neste sentido, embora seja comum encontrar na sociedade brasileira discursos poéticos e romantizados que representam o júri como um espaço democrático onde os "iguais julgam seus iguais", identificou-se que o júri, enquanto um espaço de socialização dos seus agentes e da sociedade, tem a eficácia de não apenas estruturar as distinções e hierarquias sociais, mas também as estruturas mentais utilizadas para compreender o mundo social e esses elementos. O estudo sociológico dessas relações iniciou-se a partir da observação dos julgamentos na cidade de Paranaguá (PR), utilizando a análise de quadros desenvolvida por Erving Goffman. No entanto, em decorrência da pandemia da covid-19, iniciada em 2020 e que impossibilitou a realização desses julgamentos no Estado do Paraná, recorreuse a outras fontes complementares, como entrevistas, análises de "doutrinas" jurídicas e fontes virtuais, como conteúdo relacionado ao marketing jurídico e cursos de formação e mentoria on-line para juristas.Abstract: This work results from an ethnography carried out between the years 2018-2022, which aimed to analyze the institution of the jury court. The initial objective of the research was to understand how the officers of this space strategically disqualify the opposing party and their theses in plenary, however, as the research progressed, it was noticed that, in addition to the strategic interactions that occur during the trial, the jury it is a judicial ritual that institutes the most varied hierarchical distinctions between those who are part of it and those who are not, whether between legal professionals who claim the identity of "tribune" or those who submit to the rite as jurors, accused, victims and witnesses. In this sense, in addition to the poetic and romanticized discourse that represents the jury as a democratic space where "equals judge their equals", it was identified that the jury, as a space for socialization of its agents and society, has the effectiveness of not only to structure social distinctions and hierarchies, but also the mental structures used to understand the social world and these elements. The sociological study of these relationships began with the observation of judgments in the city of Paranaguá (PR), using frame analysis developed by Erving Goffman. However, as a result of the covid-19 pandemic, which began in 2020 and which made it impossible to carry out these trials in the State of Paraná, other complementary sources were used, such as interviews, analyzes of legal "doctrines" and virtual sources, such as content related to legal marketing and online training and mentoring courses for jurists.
