Um intelectual insurgente : Ruy Mauro Marini, o exílio e a revolução socialista na América Latina

Abstract

Resumo: O objeto de estudo a que se dedica esse texto é a trajetória e a obra de Ruy Mauro Marini antes e depois do exílio, mais precisamente com relação às suas reflexões em torno do desenvolvimento capitalista no Brasil e na América Latina e a respeito da estratégia revolucionária a ser adotada pelas vanguardas políticas da região. A problemática que orientou esta pesquisa se dedicou a encontrar, no pensamento do autor, os elementos que, ao analisarmos sua obra em dois períodos históricos distintos, poderiam ser entendidos como uma incorporação das experiências históricas da América Latina com relação ao papel dos movimentos populares e das vanguardas políticas do subcontinente e de que forma a experiência de exílio contribuiu e forneceu as condições sociais, políticas e institucionais para o seu amadurecimento intelectual, político e profissional, bem como para a consolidação de uma agenda de pesquisa voltada ao subcontinente da América Latina. Para tanto, foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica acerca das diversas organizações e movimentos sociais que constituíam o campo político da esquerda revolucionária no período anterior ao golpe militar de 1964, a análise da obra Subdesenvolvimento e Revolução e os textos da última fase de exílio de Marini, mais precisamente aqueles escritos entre 1976-1985, incluindo seu Memorial quando do regresso e incorporação na UnB. O percurso da pesquisa resultou em três capítulos nos quais se desenvolveu a análise do PCB e da Nova Esquerda, passando à trajetória de Marini no exílio marcada pelo contato com experiências autoritárias, por um lado, e com movimentos revolucionários, por outro, aliado à permanência em instituições universitárias e de pesquisa e o intercâmbio com outros intelectuais e movimentos. A experiência do exílio, analisada com base em Rollemberg (1999), permitiu identificar nas obras do segundo período uma expansão dos horizontes teóricos e o amadurecimento político do autor, o que culminou em alterações nas suas concepções acerca do papel das esquerdas revolucionárias no subcontinente.

Abstract: The object of study to which this text is dedicated is the trajectory and work of Ruy Mauro Marini before ans after exile, more precisely in relation to his reflections on capitalist development in Brail and Latin America and about the revolutionary strtategy to be adopted by the political vanguards of the region. The issue that guided this research was dedicated to finding, in the author's thought, the elements that, when analyzing his work in two distinct historical periods, could be understood as an incorporation of the historical experiences of Latin America regarding the role of popular the subcontinent and how the exile experience contributed and provided the social, political and institutional conditions for its intellectual, political and professional maturity, as well as for the consolidation of a research agenda focused on the Latin American subcontinent. To this end, a bibliographical review was carried out on the various organizations and social movements that constituted the political field of the revolutionary left in the period prior to the 1964 military coup, the analysis of the work Underdevelopment and Revolution and the texts from the last phase of Marini's exile, more precisely those written between 1976-1985, including his Memorial on his return and incorporation at UnB. The research path resulted in three chapters in which the analysis of the PCB and the New Left was developed, passing to Marini's trajectory in exile marked by contact with authoritarian experiences, on the one hand, and with revolutionary movements, on the other, allied to permanence in university and research institutions and exchanges with other intellectuals and movements. The exile experience, analyzed based on Rollemberg (1999), allowed the identification of an expansion of theoretical horizons and the author's political maturity in the works of the second period, which culminated in changes in his conceptions about the role of the revolutionary left in the subcontinent.
