Os diversos usos da PrEP : as narrativas e discursos dos usuários sobre prevenção e HIV/AIDS

Abstract

Resumo: O objetivo da presente dissertação é compreender o conjunto de discursos e dispositivos que compõem a profilaxia pré-exposição (PrEP) e a pessoa que adota essa estratégia para prevenção a infecção pelo HIV/Aids. Através do referencial teórico da genealogia do poder e da ética de si propostos por Michel Foucault, a pesquisa compreende o arquivo que compõe esta tecnologia de prevenção ao vírus do HIV elencando o conjunto de relações sociais que emanam desse dispositivo, os processos de subjetivação, sujeição e reflexividade, as representações discursivas sobre HIV/AIDS e a PrEP e as redes de poder e saber. Para tal, foram utilizados três arquivos analisados para construção do conhecimento realizado nesta pesquisa, que são: a participação do pesquisador em um projeto de testagem para o HIV realizado por uma ONG de Curitiba, o Grupo Dignidade; a aplicação de um questionário voltado para homens gays e outros homens que fazem sexo com homens (HSH); e a entrevista com onze pessoas que usam ou utilizaram a PrEP. Para construir a genealogia da PrEP foi necessário pensar os discursos sobre os processos de saúde e doença bem como a discussão sobre o campo das políticas públicas de HIV/Aids, elencando seus principais momentos e como ocorreu a formulação da agenda pública dessa questão no país. Enquanto conclusão do estudo, constata-se que a adoção a PrEP enquanto medida de prevenção ao HIV relaciona aspectos da ordem subjetiva e pessoal bem como os aspectos biopolíticos presentes no discurso oficial de prevenção.

Abstract: The objective of this dissertation is to understand the set of discourses and devices that make up pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and the person who adopts this strategy to prevent HIV/AIDS infection. Through the theoretical framework of the genealogy of power and self-ethics proposed by Michel Foucault, the research comprises the archive that makes up this HIV virus prevention technology, listing the set of social relations that emanate from this device, the processes of subjectification, subjection and reflexivity, the discursive representations about HIV/Aids and PrEP and the networks of power and knowledge. To this end, three analyzed files were used to build the knowledge carried out in this research, which are: the participation of the researcher in an HIV testing project carried out by an NGO in Curitiba, the Grupo Dignidade; the application of a questionnaire aimed at gay men and other men who have sex with men (MSM); and the interview with eleven people who use or have used PrEP. In order to build the PrEP genealogy, it was necessary to think about the discourses on the health and disease processes as well as the discussion on the field of public policies on HIV/Aids, listing its main moments and how the formulation of the public agenda for this issue occurred in the country. As a conclusion of the study, it appears that the adoption of PrEP as an HIV prevention measure relates aspects of the subjective and personal order as well as the biopolitical aspects present in the official prevention discourse.
