Busca por dignidade : narrativas sobre reconhecimento na periferia da cidade de Curitiba-PR

Abstract

Resumo: Este trabalho investiga como três agentes autovalorizam suas conquistas em meio a um contexto de desigualdade e vulnerabilidade social na periferia de Curitiba-PR. A pesquisa se utiliza dos pressupostos teóricos da Teoria do Reconhecimento na tentativa de compreender como os agentes produzem sentidos e racionalizações sobre suas autorrealizações. Através da observação participante e análise das narrativas procurou-se conhecer como os agentes reconhecem a si e aos outros em suas relações afetivas, sociais e jurídicas. Descobrimos que o sentimento do próprio valor, isto é, a busca por dignidade é representada nas narrativas de experiência de vida que realçam o sentimento do seu próprio valor como pessoas guerreiras, vitoriosas e voluntaristas. Abstract: This dissertation investigates how three agents self-value their achievements in the context of inequality and social vulnerability in the outskirts of Curitiba-PR. The research uses the theoretical assumptions of the Theory of Recognition in an attempt to understand how the agents produce meanings and rationalizations about their self-realizations. Through participant observation and analysis of individual narratives, we sought to understand how agents recognize themselves and others in their affective, social and legal relationships. We found that the feeling of self-worth, that is, the search for a dignity is represented in the narratives of experience that highlight the meritocratic values of people who perceive themselves and are perceived as warriors, victorious and voluntarists.
