Deus. Religião. Metafísica. Abstract: The purpose of this thesis is to analyze the concept of God and its relations with metaphysics and morals, as well as the role of religion in Voltaire's work. We will see in our analysis how such a concept, fundamental in the author's metaphysics, is divided into two possible approaches, generating a kind of double doctrine, one metaphysical and another historical-moral. These approaches will be responsible for forming different aspects of the concept, and at the same time they will enable a historical and social approach to the use of religion through the analysis of the problem of evil, which will symbolize a point of intersection between these two fields (the metaphysical and the moral), uniting them and representing the border between them. Keywords: Enlightenmtent. God. Religion. Metaphysics.
