Abstract

Resumo: A presente pesquisa tem como objetivo levantar a discussão acerca da maleabilidade do termo moderno no que se refere aos discursos sobre as artes e a literatura no meio curitibano durante a primeira metade do século XX. Para tanto, situa-se entre a análise de fontes documentais e a análise da historiografia produzida sobre o assunto. A abordagem aqui pretendida se divide, portanto, entre dois conjuntos de textos. O primeiro, é composto por documentos como catálogos, resenhas críticas, ensaios, entrevistas e contos literários. O segundo, por narrativas sobre o moderno no meio artístico-literário curitibano produzidas com rigores historiográficos por pesquisadores recentes. De início, procura-se contextualizar os debates sobre o moderno na cidade em cotejo com as transformações sociais que marcaram o período. Em seguida, passa-se ao conjunto de trabalhos acadêmicos selecionados para mobilizar o debate sobre o moderno. Por fim, investiga os sentidos investidos nos discursos a partir de dois eixos interpretativos sobre a modernidade artística-literária em Curitiba nos anos 1940 tendo como fonte principal a revista Joaquim. Abstract: The present research aims to raise the discussion about the malleability of the modern as a term related to discourses about arts and literature in Curitiba scene during the first half of the 20th century. For this, the methodological approach it is located between the analysis of the documental sources and the analysis of the historiography produced of the subject. The approach here is divided, therefore, between two sets of texts. The first one consists of documents such as catalogs, critical reviews, essays, interviews and literary tales. The second, by narratives about the modern in the artistic-literary environment of Curitiba produced with historiographical rigor by other researchers in the area. At first, we try to contextualize the debates about the modern in the city relating with the social changes that marked the period. Then, it moves on to the set of selected academic works to mobilize the debate on the modern. Finally, it investigates the meanings invested in the discourses from two interpretative axes on the artistic-literary modernity in Curitiba in the 1940s, with Joaquim magazine as its main source.
