Abstract

Resumo: O estudo busca refletir sobre a singular relação entre a produção artística de Artaud e suas experiências de alteridade. Para isso, o material etnográfico utilizado é referente à produção artística de dois períodos de sua trajetória: 1-) Sua relação com o Surrealismo (1924 a 1926); 2-) A viagem para o México (1936). Os textos utilizados constituem-se na forma de cartas, ensaios e artigos. Para entender as motivações do artista em integrar o Surrealismo, são analisadas as figuras de alteridade presentes no movimento, tais como as produzidas por influência da teoria freudiana do inconsciente, bem como o interesse pelas artes ditas primitivas. Através de cartas e artigos é destacado como a viagem ao México influenciou as concepções teatrais de Artaud, principalmente devido ao contato com o povo Tarahumara. Nesse contexto, discute-se como essa experiência da alteridade influenciou na crítica à sociedade ocidental realizada a partir da noção de teatro-ritual. Abstract: The study aims to reflect on the unique relationship between Artaud's artistic product and his experiences of otherness. For this, the ethnographic material used is related to the artistic production of two periods of his career: 1) Your relationship with Surrealism (1924-1926); 2) The trip to Mexico (1936). The texts used are in the form of letters, essays and articles. To understand the motivations of the artist to integrate Surrealism, are analyzed the figures of otherness present in the movement, such as those produced by the influence of Freud's theory of the unconscious, and the interest in so-called primitive arts. Through letters and articles is highlighted as the trip to Mexico influenced the theatrical conceptions of Artaud, mainly due to contact with the people Tarahumara. In this context, it discusses how this experience of otherness influenced the critique of Western society held from theater-ritual notion. Keywords: Otherness, Antonin Artaud, Theater
