Resumo: Surgida no efervescente contexto das inovações no campo pentecostal brasileiro na passagem do século XX para o XXI, a Bola de Neve Church é nacionalmente conhecida como a "igreja dos surfistas". Neste trabalho, analiso, a partir de pesquisa de campo realizada na sua igreja de Paranaguá, Paraná, as formas como não apenas o surf, mas um amplo conjunto de imagens culturais da juventude é mobilizado, tendo suas imagens ressignificadas na constituição da experiência religiosa. Busco mostrar como, na igreja, a juventude não é nem depreciada nem apenas utilizada como estratagema de atração de novos fieis, mas, sim, reorientada de forma que ela mesma passe a fornecer os termos da experiência religiosa. Assim, ela dá novo sentido à condição de juventude ao mesmo tempo em que também redefine as formas de ser evangélico. Ao justapor estes dois universos, a igreja acaba trazendo transformações em ambos, pondo em xeque presunções acerca dos limites de um e de outro.Abstract: Emerged in the effervescent context of the Brazilian Pentecostalism in the last turn of the century, the Bola de Neve Church (Snowball Church) is nationally known as the "Church of surfers". In this work, I analyze, from field research conducted in their church of Paranaguá, Paraná, the ways which not only surfing, but a wide range of cultural images of youth is mobilized, having their very images resignified in the constitution of religious experience. I seek to show how, in the church, the youth is neither depreciated nor just used as a ploy to attract new believers, but rather reoriented so that itself passes to provide the terms of religious experience. Thus, it gives new meaning to the condition of youth while also resets the forms of being evangelical. By juxtaposing these two universes, the church ends up bringing in both transformations, putting into question assumptions about the limits of both the one and the other.
