Todos os nomes : a trajetória de um sujeito moderno

Abstract

Resumo: É com um olhar voltado para as contradições da sensibilidade moderna que este trabalho tem como ponto principal a investigação do que significam as mudanças operadas pelo personagem principal de Todos os nomes (1997) durante o caminho que percorre ao longo da narrativa. Através de questões referentes ao despertar da modernidade, seu consequente desenrolar e o modo como elas se desenvolvem no tempo presente, o estudo desenvolvido pretende investigar a trajetória desse personagem, revelando como é possível que o sujeito moderno encontre maneiras de lidar com o aspecto de complexa fluidez das sociedades ocidentais. Em paralelo, devido ao lugar que ocupa o personagem da obra e considerando-se outras obras do escritor português José Saramago (1922-2010), o estudo posiciona a narrativa saramaguiana como sendo de grande importância para a compreensão da subjetividade humana.

Abstract: It is with the eye turned to the modern sensibility contradictions that this work has as its starting point the investigation of what is the meaning of the changes operated by the main character of Todos os nomes (1997) during the path it traverses throughout the narrative. Through questions concerning the modernity awakening, its consequent unfolding and the way it unravels in the present tense, the developed study aims to investigate the trajectory of this character, revealing how it is possible that the modern subject find ways to deal with the aspect of complex fluidity of the western societies. In parallel, due to the place taken by the character of the work and considering other works of the Portuguese writer José Saramago (1922-2010), the study positions the saramaguian narrative as being of great importance for the comprehension of the human subjectivity.
