Três autoras francesas e a cultura escrita no Século XVII : gênero e sociabilidades

Abstract

Resumo: Esta tese tem como tema a escrita produzida por mulheres na França, no século XVII. O estudo preocupa-se com as relações sociais e culturais entre homens e mulheres de letras, buscando problematizar as ligações entre cultura escrita, espaço e sociabilidades. Para tanto, estudamos a vida e a obra de três autoras que participaram dos espaços letrados da França nesse período: Madeleine de Scudéry (1607-1701), Madame de La Fayette (1634-1693) e Jacqueline Pascal (1625-1661). Com a análise de tratados morais e de correspondências objetivamos compreender o pensamento dessas escritoras e a inserção delas nos ambientes de pessoas letradas - os salões literários e os monastérios, em especial. Analisamos as práticas de sociabilidades das quais elas participaram e como elas reagiram aos debates intelectuais europeus desse período que tratavam das diferenças de gênero. Dessa forma, esta tese se inclui na área da História das Mulheres e dos Estudos de Gênero, a partir da perspectiva da História da Cultura Escrita e da Leitura no período moderno.

Abstract: This thesis focuses on the written production of women in the seventeenth century France. The study is concerned with the social and cultural relations between men and women of letters, seeking to question the links between written culture, space and sociability from the study of the life and work of three authors, who participated in the letter spacing of France in this period: Madeleine de Scudéry (1607-1701), Madame de La Fayette (1634-1693) and Jacqueline Pascal (1625-1661). From the analysis of moral treatises and letters, we aim to understand the thoughts of these writers and their insertion in the literate environment – the literary salons and the monasteries, in particular. We seek to analyze the practices of sociability which they participated and how they reacted to the European intellectual debates of that period that dealt with the gender differences. Thus, this thesis is included in the area of women's history and gender studies from the perspective of the history of written culture and reading in the modern period.
