A permanência de estruturas urbanas e a construção do conceito de cidade na abordagem geográfica : reflexões sobre o planejamento urbano da Cidade de Curitiba

Resumo: Assim como o urbano, os cientistas que tentam explicá-lo são fruto de dado momento histórico e determinados social, política, ideológica, jurídica e economicamente. Com base neste fato e tomando-se as ideias centrais dos intelectuais que através da Geografia Urbana e da Geografia Histórica entendem o espaço, se busca a compreensão da cidade de Curitiba durante o século XX, verificando como a abordagem técnico-científica agiu na regulação do crescimento e na modernização, demonstrando como a ciência nos ajuda na compreensão da cidade, neste caso dando especial destaque a uma cidade brasileira e sua realidade de país emergente. Também, buscar-se-á verificar como o arquiteto Alfred Agache contribuiu para modificações na cidade e na construção de uma identidade curitibana, fortemente atreladas ao progresso e a ordem urbanos. Serão expostos os esquemas e trabalhos do plano, a fim de contribuir com o entendimento das transformações urbanas de Curitiba. O objetivo é ir além da história oficial e midiática e inserir o processo de planejamento de Curitiba em um contexto, onde as permanências, tanto físicas, construídas, quanto as imateriais, como a segregação espacial e a falta de políticas urbanas para a melhoria da qualidade de vida da população menos favorecida financeiramente, presentes nos planos e ideias dos planejadores analisados, sejam expostas e discutidas, como caminho para a superação deste pensamento sobre a cidade, partindo de forma definitiva da cidade que temos, segregada e elitistas para a cidade que queremos, mais justa e igualitária. Abstract: Like the urban, scientists trying to explain it are the result of certain historical moment and social, political, ideological, legal and economically. Based on this fact and taking the core ideas of the intellectuals who through the Urban Geography and Historical Geography to understand the space, it seeks to understand the city of Curitiba during the twentieth century, looking at how to approach technical-scientific acted in regulating growth and modernization, demonstrating how science helps us in understanding the city, in this case with particular emphasis on a Brazilian city and its reality of emerging country. Also, it is hoped will see how the architect Alfred Agache contributed to changes in the city and the construction of an identity, strongly linked to the progress and urban order. Schemes will be exposed and work plan in order to contribute to the understanding of urban transformation of Curitiba. The goal is to go beyond official history and media and enter the planning process in a context of Curitiba, where the stays, physical, built, as the intangible, such as spatial segregation and the lack of urban policies to improve the quality of lives of people less privileged financially, present plans and ideas of the planners analyzed, to be presented and discussed as a way to overcome this thinking about the city, leaving a final city we have, segregated and elitist to the city we want more just and equal.
