Abstract: The aim of this investigation is to analyse the possibilities of interaction and research that happen in the task stage of Algebra WebQuests and to identify what facilitates algebraic education. It is a qualitative research that describes and interprets data from categories analysis based on theoretical study, and they: Algebra, Interaction and Research. This data were selected from algebraic WebQuests of Mathematics PhPWebQuest of Community EscolaBR produced by teachers between 2005 and 2007. The WebQuests categories were based on Dodge (2002), the analysis of interaction possibilities was supported by Primo (2008), and the theoretical basis of research as an educational principal were taken from Demo (2005, 2006). Lins and Gimenez algebraic thinking (1997) and algebraic concepts studied by Lee (2001) and Usiskin (1995) were the foundation for algebraic education. The results of data analysis showed that the teacher who created the chosen WebQuest was able to build activities that intend to develop students' algebraic and high level thinking. On the other hand the activities did not use all the interaction and research possibilities of the Internet tools. So, following Dodge's task taxonomy, it is presented a table that classifies tasks and offers eletronic addresses of products and resources as an opportunity for colaborative production on the Internet.
