A vingança de Maria de Noronha e o questionamento de Portugal
Resumo
Resumo: O trabalho é uma análise do romance A Vingança de Maria de Noronha (1988) de Armando Silva Carvalho, que reescreve o drama Frei Luís de Sousa (1843) de Almeida Garrett. Estuda-se um aspecto característico do romance contemporâneo que é o intenso uso da intertextualidade e de como o diálogo entre estes dois textos literários possibilita um questionamento do Portugal contemporâneo. O romance tem por enredo os preparativos de uma encenação do drama canônico do romantismo português, Frei Luís de Sousa, em finais dos anos 80 do século XX. A partir disso, Armando Silva Carvalho, conduz o leitor a perceber as mudanças de valores éticos e morais ocorridas na sociedade portuguesa. A análise se inicia explicando o surgimento do romantismo em Portugal para situar o drama de Garrett. Na seqüência, aborda-se o romance A Vingança de Maria de Noronha enfatizando como ali são questionados vários elementos da identidade nacional. O trabalho endossa a análise de Eduardo Lourenço que aponta como apartir de Garrett Portugal foi pensado pela literatura, e mostra como a literatura portuguesa contemporânea continua a interrogação dos destinos coletivos. Destaca-se ainda a importância que o passado representa para o país e de como a historia pode ser um empecilho para que a nação se direcione ao futuro. A análise mostra como o romance assume, portanto, um tom de denúncia que se assemelha a que já havia sido feita por Garrett, de que é preciso deixar o passado ser passado para que o presente se torne presente. Abstract: This work is an analysis of lhe novel A vingança de Maria de Noronha (1988) by Armando Silva Carvalho, who reviews the drama Frei Luis de Sousa (1843) by Almeida Garrett. It's an analysis of one characteristic in the contemporary novel, wich is the intense use of the intertextuality and how the dialogue between both literary texts makes possible a question for the contemporary Portugal. The novel has by plot the preparative lor staging of the canonic drama of the Portuguese romantism. Frei Luis de Sousa at the ending eighties of the past century. Thus Armando Silva Carvalho sends the reader to percieve the changes of the ethics and moral values that happened in the Portuguese community. The analysis starts explaining the arising of romantism in Portugal to situate Garrett's drama .In the sequence, treats the novel A Vingança de Maria de Noronha, giving emphasis in how are discussed there the various elements of the national identity. The work endorses the analysis by Eduardo Loureneo. who indicates how. starling out Garrett. Portugal was thought by the literature, and shows how the contemporary Portuguese literature continues the questioning of the coleclive destiny. Detaches yet the importance that the pass represents to the country and how history can be an obstacle for the nation's search for the future.
