A paisagem sonora da Ilha dos Valadares : percepção e memória na construção do espaço

Abstract

Resumo: As águas separam a Ilha dos Valadares da cidade de Paranaguá, que apesar da proximidade – cerca de 400 metros do centro urbano – e mesmo havendo uma ponte que as conecta, possuem características diferentes na paisagem. Destaque para a paisagem sonora, marcante na ilha por ser mais próxima do natural, e por conter o fandango. O fandango, manifestação da cultura caiçara que tem na Ilha dos Valadares a presença do maior número de mestres e tocadores do Estado do Paraná, apresenta-se como importante elemento para pensar a cultura e a geografia do lugar. Os bailes de fandango envolvem homens e mulheres, que dançam e se divertem juntos, repetindo o que aprenderam com seus pais. Entre os fandangueiros que habitam Valadares, encontram-se pessoas de diferentes locais de origem. A presente pesquisa contou com cinco fandangueiros, sendo três oriundos de outras ilhas do litoral paranaense, um da cidade de Paranaguá, e um da própria ilha estudada. Dessa forma, este trabalho buscará desvendar, através das percepções e memórias de cinco fandangueiros moradores da Ilha dos Valadares, quais são os elementos componentes do universo simbólico acerca do lugar onde vivem.

Abstract: Waters divide Ilha dos Valadares and the city of Paranaguá which, despite the proximity - about 400 meters from the urban Center - and the bridge that link them both, have different landscapes. Distinctive to the soundscape, outstanding in the island for being closer to the natural, and for containing the "fandango". The "fandango", manifestation of the "caiçara" culture which has in Valadares island the major number of masters and players in the state of Paraná, presents itself as an important element to think the culture and the geography of this location. The fandango dance involves men and women that dance and enjoy themselves together, repeating what they learned from their parents. Among the fandango performers that live in Valadares, there are people from different locations. The present work has counted on five fandango performers, being three of them from other islands in Paraná, one of them from Paranaguá city, and one from the island in question. This work will aim to reveal, through the perception and memories of these five fandango performers inhabitants of Valadares islands, which are the elements that compose the symbolic universe around the place they live.
