Porque na boate pode : masculinidade entre grupos de amigos homossexuais em Curitiba, Paraná

Resumo: Essa dissertação de mestrado é o resultado de uma etnografia sobre o lazer noturno em boates frequentadas pelo público homossexual, conhecidas popularmente como baladas gays. O trabalho de campo foi realizado em Curitiba- PR, que é a principal referência desse tipo de diversão para um público que abrange a região metropolitana da cidade, com mais de três milhões de habitantes, segundo o censo de 2010. O principal objeto de estudo dessa pesquisa são as representações sociais da homossexualidade e o objetivo é de dar mais profundidade ao tema. O estudo está centrado na visão de mundo dos grupos frequentadores e na classificação das pessoas e dos lugares em relação com as categorias da sexualidade, em especial da masculinidade. Como veremos, essa classificação é complexa, está em constante atualização e põe em evidência a diversidade dos significados sobre "ser gay". Além disso, o trabalho está focado nas narrativas de distinção entre homossexuais que estão pautadas, dentre outras, pelas normas de comportamento masculino. Abstract: This master's dissertation is the result of an ethnography about the nocturnal leisure in nightclubs frequented by the homosexual public, popularly known as gay clubs. The field work was carried out in Curitiba-PR, which is the main reference for this type of entertainment for an audience that covers the metropolitan region of the city, with more than three million inhabitants, according to the 2010 census. The main object of study from this research are the social representations of homosexuality and the objective is to give more depth to the theme. The study is centered on the worldview of the groups that attend and on the classification of people and places in relation to the categories of sexuality, especially masculinity. As we will see, this classification is complex, constantly updated and highlights the diversity of meanings about "being gay". In addition, the work will be focused on the narratives of distinction between homosexuals that are guided, among others, by the norms of male behavior.
