A Farda é mais bonita : um estudo sobre a hipermilitarização por intermédio da representação dos guardas municipais de Ponta Grossa

Abstract

Resumo: A crescente autonomia dos municípios nas atribuições e responsabilidades na segurança pública, aliada à crise nesse setor, fez com que esses entes iniciassem uma participação mais ativa na segurança pública, com a instituição da guarda municipal, a qual vem atuando em função diversa da sua criação, exercendo uma atividade restrita de outros órgãos da segurança pública. Desse modo, buscou-se analisar a representação das Guardas Municipais de Ponta Grossa sobre a segurança pública e seu exercício, assim como os aspectos simbólicos desse campo, principalmente no que se refere a um habitus militar. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa, com observação participativa, que além das entrevistas com membros da Guarda Municipal de Ponta Grossa (GMPG) contou com a análise do relatório geral da instituição e com uma análise sócio-histórica das transformações pelas quais a GMPG passou desde a sua criação até os dias de hoje. Com isso, a presente pesquisa se dedicou a estudar o processo de militarização da GMPG e sua relação com os efeitos da hipermilitarização da sociedade. Palavras-chaves: Guarda Municipal. Abstract: The increasing municipal autonomy, pertaining to their attributions and responsibilities, concerning public safety, along the crisis within this sector, allowed these entities to initiate a more active participation in public safety, with the institution of the municipal guard, which has been acting in a diverse function than the one for which it was created, exercising an activity restricted to other sectors of the public safety. Thereby, the present study aims do analyze the representation of the municipal guards in Ponta Grossa, regarding public safety and its exercise, as well as the symbolic aspects of this field, manly as it pertains to a military habitus. To complete the study a qualitative research, with a participative observation, was performed, which, besides the interviews with member of the municipal guard of Ponta Grossa (GMPG), contained the analysis of the general report of the institution and with a social-historical analysis of the transformations, that the GMPG have gone through, since its creation to the present time. With this, the present research dedicated to study the process of militarization of the Municipal Guard of Ponta Grossa and its relation with the society hyper-militarization.
