Revisão das espécies de Actinote Hübner (1819) (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Heliconiinae, Acraeini)

Abstract

A tribo Acraeini (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae, Heliconiinae) inclui três gêneros exclusivamente Neotropicais; Actinote Hübner [1819], Altinote Potts, 1943 e Abananote Potts, 1943. A revisão de Actinote foi realizada; as espécies e subespécies foram redescritas e cinco novos táxons descritos (três espécies e duas subespécies) apresentando ilustrações dos adultos, das genitálias masculina e feminina além do tampão genital. Uma caracterização geral dos imaturos é fornecida, com estudo da quetotaxia da larva de primeiro instar. Como padrão para a caracterização morfológica e descrição das espécies e subespécies do gênero; foram utilizados os adultos de Actinote melanisans Oberthür, 1917, sendo esse o primeiro estudo detalhado de morfologia da tribo Acraeini, que permitiu agregar informações para subsidiar a filogenia dos gêneros Neotropicais. Os seguintes são syn. nov.: Actinote lorida Oberthür, 1917 e Actinote pellenea var. carycinoides D Almeida 1935 de Actinote carycina Jordan, 1913; Actinote anteas f. straminosa Jordan, 1913 de Actinote latior Jordan, 1913; Actinote brylla Oberthür, 1917 e Actinote brasiliensis var. notabilis D Almeida, 1935 de Actinote pallescens Jordan, 1913; Actinote pellenea nordestina D Almeida 1935 de Actinote pellenea auloeda Oberthür, 1917; Actinote equatoria f. pseudequatoria Hayward, 1935, Actinote pellenea f. xanthobrunnea Hayward, 1935 e Actinote pyrrha f. illimis Hayward, 1935 de Actinote pellenea diaguita Hayward, 1931; Actinote lolia Oberthür, 1917 de Actinote equatoria lodis Jordan, 1913; Actinote elena Hall, 1921 de Actinote mamita mamita (Burmeister, 1861). Os seguintes são ssp. rev.: Actinote parapheles ochreana Hayward, 1931; Actinote pellenea auloeda Oberthür, 1917 e Actinote pellenea diaguita Hayward, 1931. As seguintes subespécies são mudadas de espécies: Actinote pellenea crucis Jordan, 1913 para Actinote pyrrha crucis; Actinote anteas byssa Oberthür, 1917 para Actinote thalia byssa

The Acraeini tribe (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae, Heliconiinae) includes three endemic Neotropical genera; Actinote Hübner [1819], Altinote Potts, 1943 and Abananote Potts, 1943. The revision of Actinote was accomplished; the species and subspecies were redescribed and five new taxa were described (three species and two subspecies); presenting the adults' illustrations, male and female genitalia and the sphragis. A general characterization of the immatures is provided, along with a study of the first instar larval chaetotaxy. A template for both the genus morphological characterization and species and subspecies descriptions; adults of Actinote melanisans Oberthür, 1917 were used, as this is the first detailed morphological study of the Acraeini tribe, allowing together the information to subsidize the phylogeny of the Neotropical genera.
