Reciprocidade, solidariedade e reconstrução da identidade camponesa : estratégias de reprodução social dos agricultores familiares da Cooperafloresta

Abstract

Resumo: Este trabalho inseriu-se numa pesquisa sobre a construção de alternatividades na produção agroalimentar que empreendeu estudos de caso no âmbito da Rede Ecovida de Agroecologia, organização de agricultores familiares agroecológicos do Sul do Brasil. Seu objeto específico de análise foi a experiência da COOPERAFLORESTA, associação integrante desta Rede e que reúne agricultores familiares do Vale do Ribeira, região situada na fronteira entre os Estados do Paraná e São Paulo. O interesse maior dessa pesquisa foi o de apreender as estratégias de reprodução dos agricultores vinculados a essa associação, em especial sua opção pela agroecologia e agrofloresta, entendendo como tais estratégias são implementadas através de diversas ações de reciprocidade e solidariedade. Nessa perspectiva, o problema da pesquisa partiu das seguintes questões: de que forma a opção pelo sistema agroflorestal e agroecológico nas atividades produtivas, mediante a organização de uma associação de base (no caso a Cooperafloresta, integrante da Rede Ecovida), representa, por um lado, uma possibilidade de reprodução social dos agricultores associados e, por outro, de se identificarem como agentes de um projeto de vida e projeto comunitário que se pretendem alternativos (nas dimensões produtivas, sociais, econômicas, políticas, ambientais, culturais)? Como as estratégias de reciprocidade e solidariedade são reproduzidas e revitalizadas no âmbito desse novo ambiente socioprodutivo e simbólico, favorecendo a reprodução social dos agricultores familiares e camponeses associados à Cooperafloresta? O referencial teórico deste trabalho foram os estudos sobre campesinato e agricultura familiar, estudos sobre a reprodução social e a teoria da dádiva e da reciprocidade. O percurso investigativo apresentou momentos de pesquisa coletiva e pesquisa individual, com destaque no uso de instrumentos como entrevistas semiestruturadas, observação participante, vivência nos mutirões e nos espaços dos grupos e das comunidades onde se encontram as famílias associadas à Cooperafloresta. Como um dos elementos dos principais resultados desta pesquisa está a apreensão das dinâmicas de solidariedade e reciprocidade que perpassam as comunidades de agricultores familiares associados à Cooperafloresta. Suas ações de ajuda mútua no uso do mutirão nas atividades produtivas e em outros setores da vida em comunidade, a importância dada ao autoconsumo e aos demais aspectos da reprodução biodemográfica, social e econômica da família e de seu estabelecimento permitem entendê-los como agricultores familiares camponeses. Nesse processo de reprodução social, constroem-se práticas diversas em uma multiplicidade de dimensões - no âmbito da família, dos grupos, da comunidade, da associação e da sociedade (em vários espaços e tempo). Tais práticas potencializam algumas continuidades, mas envolvem transformações no habitus camponês - os elementos de qualidade de vida e gosto pela vida são resgatados nesse projeto familiar imbricado em um projeto de sociedade que se quer sustentável pela adoção da agroecologia e agrofloresta e por sociabilidades solidárias. Este trabalho compreende tais experiências construídas pelos agricultores familiares da Cooperafloresta, apesar dos seus limites, como um projeto de alternatividade. Abstract: This work was part of a research on the construction of the agro-food production alternativities that undertook case studies within the Ecovida Agroecology Network, an organization of agroecological family farmers from southern Brazil. Its specific object of analysis was the experience of COOPERAFLORESTA, a member association of this Network that brings together family farmers from the Ribeira Valley, a region that is situated on the border between the states of Paraná and São Paulo. The main interest of this research was to capture the reproductive strategies of farmers linked to this association, particularly their choice for agroecology and agroforestry, understanding how such strategies are implemented through various actions of reciprocity and solidarity. In this perspective, the problem proposed in the research came up from the following questions: how does the choice for agroforestry and agroecology in productive activities by organizing an association of base (in this case Cooperafloresta, a member of Ecovida) represent, on the one hand, a possibility of social reproduction of associated farmers, and, on the other hand, a possibility of identifying themselves as agents of a life project and a community project seemingly alternative (in productive, social, economical, political, environmental, cultural dimensions)? How are the strategies of reciprocity and solidarity reproduced and revitalized within this new socio-productive and symbolic environment, favoring the social reproduction of family farmers and agricultural workers associated to Cooperafloresta? The theoretical frameworks of this study were studies on family farm and peasantry, studies on social reproduction, and the theory of giving and reciprocity. The investigative path presented moments of collective research and individual research, highlighting the use of instruments such as semi-structured interviews, participant observation, and experience in the task force and in the spaces of the groups and communities where the families associated with Cooperafloresta are found. One of the major outcomes of this research is the understanding of the dynamics of solidarity and reciprocity that underlie the communities of family farmers associated with Cooperafloresta. Its mutual aid actions in the use of task forces in productive activities and in other sectors of community life, the importance given to subsistence and other aspects of bio-demographic, social and economical reproduction of the family and their establishment allow for an understanding of them as family farmers and peasants. In the process of social reproduction, several practices are built in a multitude of dimensions - within the family, the groups, the community, the association and the society (in various spaces and time). Such practices potentialize some continuities, but involve changes in the family farmers and peasants habitus – the elements of quality of life and zest for life are rescued in this family project imbricated in a project of society that is made sustainable due to the adoption of agroforestry and agroecology and solidary sociabilities. This work includes such experiences built by the family farmers from Cooperafloresta, despite its limits, as an alternativity project.
