Cecília Meireles e os símbolos do absoluto

Abstract

Resumo: Singular escritora da língua portuguesa, Cecília Meireles desafiou as classificações e galgou lugar único na literatura brasileira. Da sua curiosidade sobre o outro e sobre si mesma nasceu uma obra de forte teor reflexivo, que trata dos recônditos do humano e busca a superação da morte no encontro com o eterno. A Filosofia Perene é base para as análises realizadas nesta dissertação. Pretendeu-se demonstrar como os símbolos escolhidos pela autora configuram uma poética de eterno x efêmero; de dissolução do ego; de renúncia na busca pelo Absoluto e do equilíbrio entre verdade e ilusão. Alguns dos interesses culturais, filosóficos e religiosos de Cecília Meireles (como as filosofias do Oriente) e o diálogo com o Simbolismo foram retomados nesta dissertação a fim de auxiliar nas análises de seus primeiros escritos em Festa, Baladas para El-rei, Nunca Mais... e Poema dos Poemas e de seus primeiros livros da maturidade: Viagem, Vaga Música e Mar Absoluto e Outros Poemas. Analisou-se a importância do mar enquanto tema e símbolo do Absoluto; os tipos de vozes poéticas que reiteram essa busca e outros motivos que, de tão reiterados, assumem também a condição de símbolos, como as mãos, espelho, retrato e estátua, diretamente ligados às questões da Filosofia Perene. O mar como símbolo do Absoluto e os temas marítimos, portanto, são os mais fortes dessa poesia produzida entre 1939 e 1945, mantendo-se pelo resto de sua obra. Palavras-chaves: Cecília Meireles. Abstract: An idiosyncratic writer in the Portuguese language, Cecília Meireles challenged the common classifications and reached an unique place in the Brazilian literary scene. Her writings, always bearing a strong reflexive element born from her curiosity towards herself and the other, treated the depths of humanity and its search for overcoming death and encountering the eternal. Having the Perennial Philosophy as the basis for the analysis in this dissertation, it was intended to demonstrated how the chosen symbols by the author lay a poetry of eternal/ephemeral; dissolution of the ego; renunciation in the search for the Absolute and of the thin line between truth and illusion. In this study, for the aim of supporting the analysis, some cultural, philosophical and religious interests of Cecilia Meireles, as well as her dialog with the Symbolist movement, were taken in scrutiny. The corpus for the analysis includes from her first writings: Festa, Baladas para El-rei, Nunca Mais... e Poema dos Poemas, and from her early maturity writings: Viagem, Vaga Música and Mar Absoluto e Outros Poemas. It was analyzed the centrality of the Sea as a theme and symbol for the Absolute; the types of poetic voices that reinforce the search for the Absolute and other frequent motifs that assume the condition of symbols, such as hands, mirrors, portraits and statues, all of these directly linked to the Perennial Philosophy. Thus, the Sea as a symbol for the Absolute and other maritime themes appear to be the main elements in the poetry written between the years of 1939 and 1945, but since kept throughout her writings.
