Turismo urbano e criminalidade : uma correlação curitibana no século XXI

Abstract

Resumo: Este estudo está pautado nos fundamentos da Geografia, sendo motivado pela tentativa de migrar de uma preocupação cotidiana para uma temática acadêmica, ou seja, avaliar a possível correlação entre turismo urbano e criminalidade, argumentando que ocorrem mudanças significativas no cotidiano das cidades pela redefinição do modo de vida urbano e pela percepção de que o turismo urbano e a violência tornaram-se também questões geográficas e ainda oferecer uma nova leitura do espaço urbano, refletindo sobre a criminalidade e sua dinâmica sobre o turismo. Num contexto em que o turismo pode ser chamado de fenômeno da modernidade e, hoje, um marco da globalização, é possível dizer que o tema turismo urbano tem alimentado reflexões no campo da Geografia, pois é expressiva a contribuição da ciência geográfica no estudo do turismo. Bem como, ao se abordar os temas "turismo urbano e criminalidade", é reconhecida uma situação de conflito onde o incremento no turismo urbano encontra incômoda presença de um verdadeiro "medo" de se viver nas grandes cidades, onde existe um ambiente em que cada vez mais a violência está associada às práticas cotidianas. Para ordenar o desenvolvimento do trabalho, foi adotada uma abordagem metodológica hipotéticadedutiva, operacionalizando a pesquisa por meio de coleta bibliográfica, pela realização de entrevistas e aplicação de questionários, pela análise estatística e comparativa de dados, confecção de tabelas e gráficos, bem como, pela reprodução de material cartográfico e de imagens. Em virtude do surto de violência que invade espaços turísticos, os turistas têm procurado territórios mais pacíficos e menos sujeitos à insegurança, daí o estudo da influência da violência e da criminalidade sobre o turismo, especialmente o urbano, justificar esta pesquisa. Dentro desta perspectiva, a escolha por um objeto de estudo recaiu sobre a cidade de Curitiba, capital do estado do Paraná, no período entre os anos de 2000 e 2005, pois muito se fala da transformação da cidade provinciana que não estava preparada para o crescimento inesperado por conta de uma intensa propaganda de seu planejamento urbano inovador, da promoção de suas "prodigalidades" urbanísticas e da implantação de um pólo automobilístico em sua Região Metropolitana, estimulando uma crescente evolução do fluxo de turistas, bem como, contribuindo para a ocorrência de diferenças sociais que podem desencadear atos criminosos.

Abstract: This study it's ruled in the beddings of the Geography, being motivated by the attempt of migrate a daily concern for a thematic academic or to evaluate the possible correlation between urban tourism and crime, being argued that significant changes in the daily one of the cities for the redefinition in the urban way of life and the perception of that the urban tourism and the violence had also become geographic questions and still to offer a new reading of the urban space, reflecting on crime and its dynamics about the tourism. In a context where the tourism can be called phenomenon of modernity and, today, a landmark of the globalization, is possible to say that the subject urban tourism has fed reflections in the field of Geography, therefore is expressive the contribution of geographic science in the study of the tourism. As well as, to approaching the subjects "urban tourism and crime", a conflict situation is recognized where the increment in the urban tourism finds bothering presence of a true "fear" of living in the great cities, where an environment exists where each time more the violence is associated with practical the daily ones. To command the development of the work, a hypothetical-deductive methodical boarding was adopted, instrumenting the research by means of bibliographical collection, for the accomplishment of interviews and application of questionnaires, for the analysis statistics and comparative of data, table confection and graphics, as well as, for the reproduction of cartographic material and images. In virtue of occasion it of violence that invades tourist spaces, the tourists have looked to more pacific territories and little citizens to the unreliability, from there the study of the influence of the violence and crime on the tourism, especially the urban one, to justify this research. Inside of this perspective, the choice for a study object fell again on the city of Curitiba, capital of the state of the Paraná, in the period enters the years of 2000 and 2005, therefore very Metropolitan says itself of the transformation of the small city that was not prepared for the unexpected growth on account of an intense propaganda of its innovative urban planning, of the promotion of its "urbanistic prodigality" and of the implantation of an automobile polar region in its neighbourhood, stimulating an increasing evolution of the tourist flow, as well as, contributing for the occurrence of social differences that they can unchain acts criminals.
