Ifigênia entre os tauros, de Eurípides : introdução, tradução e notas

Abstract

Resumo: Esta dissertacao apresenta uma traducao, acompanhada de estudo introdutorio e notas, da obra Ifigenia entre os Tauros, de Euripides, a partir da edicao de J. DIGGLE (1981). Na introducao, propoe-se um estudo critico sobre a recepcao da obra, desde a Poetica de Aristoteles, em que foi vista como um modelo para a composicao tragica, ate seu desprestigio pela critica moderna e a reavaliacao de sua importancia por estudos recentes. Apresenta-se tambem uma discussao sobre aspectos concernentes a performance da obra e a possivel relacao entre sua textualidade e as reproducoes imageticas relacionadas a variante taurica do mito de Ifigenia. Segue-se a traducao em verso livre, acompanhada do texto grego utilizado e, por fim, notas em que se discutem aspectos estruturais, literarios e filologicos do texto. Por se tratar de uma obra cuja escritura estava orientada para o horizonte performativo das representacoes teatrais atenienses no seculo V a. C., a abordagem tradutoria e critica deste trabalho enfatiza as relacoes entre performance e textualidade, elementos indissociaveis na escritura dramaturgica da tragedia atica.

Abstract: This dissertation presents a translation, followed by an introductory study and some notes, of the work Iphigenia among the Taurians, by Euripides, according to J. DIGGLE edition (1981). In the Introduction, it is presented a critical study on the reception of the work, since Aristotle's Poetics, in which it was considered as a model for tragic composition, until its disrepute by modern critics and the reappraisal of its importance by recent studies. It is also proposed a discussion on some aspects concerning the performance of this work, and the possible relation between its textuality and the iconographic reproductions related to the Tauric variation of the myth of Iphigenia. It is followed by a translation written in free verse, accompanied by the Greek text used as its source, and, finally, some notes that discuss structural, literary and philological aspects of the text. Since it is a work whose writ was oriented towards the performance horizon of Athenian theatrical representations in the fifth century B.C., both the translating and critical approaches of this work emphasize the relations between performance and textuality, elements that are indissoluble in the dramaturgical writing of Attic tragedy.
