Aprendi falar português na escola! O processo de nacionalização das escolas étnicas polonesas e ucranianas no Paraná

Resumo: Analisar o processo de nacionalização das escolas étnicas ucranianas e polonesas no Paraná, durante as décadas de 1920 e 1930, até culminar com a nacionalização compulsória, é o tema desta tese. Buscou-se compreender como este processo foi implementado, através de legislação, fiscalização e homogeneização dos saberes através dos livros didáticos e conteúdos escolares. As escolas étnicas existiam independentes do aparelho escolar oficial e mantinham a identidade étnica através da língua e cultura do grupo de origem. Existiam diferentes formas de organização das escolas étnicas: as sociedades-escola, as escolas étnicas religiosas e as escolas subvencionadas. Estas tinham o apoio das comunidades, da Igreja e também de intelectuais, que produziam material didático, ministravam cursos aos professore e também curso de proficiência em língua nacional. Foram acusadas de desnacionalizar a infância, pois não ensinavam em língua nacional e objeto das ações governamentais para a formação do sentimento de pertencimento nacional. As fontes de pesquisa foram os documentos oficiais, como os Relatórios e as Mensagens de Governo, a legislação escolar, os arquivos da DOPS com os dossiês de instituições e pessoas, as publicações como A Imprensa Escolar, a Revista Educação, os arquivos das Congregações da Sagrada Família e das Vicentinas de São José, os jornais regionais como o Gazeta do Povo e Diário da Tarde, os depoimentos e entrevistas de ex-alunos que estudaram nestas escolas. O cotejamento das fontes possibilitou a compreensão do processo de nacionalização. A cada medida oficial implantada, as escolas étnicas foram encontrando caminhos para manter a identidade étnica e também atender as exigências legais. A língua nacional assume o caráter de elemento principal de formação do sentimento de brasilidade. Ao mesmo tempo em que acatam as prescrições legais, criavam formas de resistência, como o bilingüismo e os horários escolares diferenciados que as tornavam diferentes das escolas públicas. A nacionalização compulsória em 1938 fechou as escolas e outras instituições de caráter étnico. A partir desta data, os professores respeitaram o espaço escolar e só ministravam aulas em língua nacional, mas, muitos deles usavam outros espaços para continuar ensinando a cultura e a língua eslava. Ante o desconhecimento ou pouca familiaridade com a língua nacional, muitos professores precisavam traduziam as lições da língua nacional para a língua étnica. Em muitas comunidades foram construídas as escolas públicas, não na mesma quantidade, mas a partir desta data, todas as escolas passaram a ensinar em língua nacional. Abstract : The objective of this research is to analyze the process of Polish and Ukrainian ethnic school nationalization during the 20's and 30's, until culminate with the compulsory nacionalization. It was intended to understand how this process was being implemented, through the legislation, fiscalization and homogeneous of the knowledges by the didactic books and school contents. The ethnic schools existed independent of the official school organization and kept the ethnic identity by the language and culture from the group. There were different ways to organize the ethnic schools: the society-schools, the religious ethnic schools and the subsidized schools. These schools got community, church and intelectuals support that produced the didactic material, they arranged teacher's courses and proficiency course in national language. They were accused to distance the childhood of the nationalization process because they didn't teach the national language and the government actions to the sense of national belonging. The researches sources were the official documents, as the government's report and messages, the school legislation, the individual and institutions' dossiers from the DOPS files, the publications as the School Press, the Education Magazine, the files from the Congregações da Sagrada Família(Holy Family Congregations) and from the Vicentinas de São José(Vicentinas from Saint Joseph), the regional newspapers like Gazeta do Povo and Diario da Tarde, the depositions and interviews of the ex-students) students that studied in these schools. The sources comparison turned possible the comprehension of the nationalization process. To each official parameter implemented , ethnic schools found such ways to keep ethnic identity and also to assist legal demands. National language assumes the main element's character of Brazilian formation sense. At the same time that accept legal prescriptions, they created resistances ways as bilinguism and different school schedules to make them different from public schools. The compulsory nationalization in 1938 closed schools and other ethnic institutions. From this date on, teachers respected school space and only teach in national language, but, many of them used other places to continue teaching Slavic culture and language. In the face of unknowledge or little familiarity with national language, many teachers needed to translate lessons from this language to the ethnic. In many communities were built public schools, not in the same amount, but from this date on all schools started to teach in national language.
