Abstract: Ceramic tiles were obtained using Industrial waste from metal-mechanics Industries, like foundry slag, exhauster powder and foundry green sand, galvanic glass microspheres and automotive battery acid inertization salts. The research focus, mainly, the use of foundry waste (foundry slag, green sand and exhauster powder) to produce ceramics. However, other wastes were added to decrease the costs with the final destination and with the ceramic production, reducing therefore the natural resources. The specimens thus obtained were tested under three-point compression, analyzed by scanning electron microscopy. Their chemical composition was analyzed by EDAX, X Ray fluorescence and X Ray diffraction. In addition they were submitted to leaching and solution essays. The results of these analyses confirmed the formation of glassy structures, which explain the characteristics obtained, i.e., high strength and low values of water absorption, retraction, solubilization and leaching.
