Terapia ocupacional em Curitiba e Região Metropolitana : trajetória e processo de formação

Resumo: Este estudo tem como objetivo principal analisar como a profissão de saúde Terapia Ocupacional foi construída na sua breve trajetória em Curitiba e Região Metropolitana e quais propostas de ação têm prevalecido nas práticas dos profissionais. A razão para o estudo é o desencadeamento de reflexões, a respeito das possibilidades de fortalecimento e crescimento da Terapia Ocupacional como profissão socialmente importante no campo da saúde pública. O estudo tem base na análise documental referentes à construção da profissão na região e entrevistas estruturadas com cinco profissionais experientes na formação de terapeutas ocupacionais no Brasil. A análise dos dados mostram um pequeno número de profissionais na região, atuando principalmente em áreas como saúde mental e reabilitação, que as abordagens teóricas e pesquisas ainda não têm claro objeto de estudo e que a profissão pouco tem construído em relação à realidade política e social brasileira. O estudo aponta que a Terapia Ocupacional tem dois grandes desafios: um, na definição de uma identidade profissional e, outro, na construção de uma intervenção voltada à realidade brasileira. Infere que a profissão, na formação para o campo da saúde, pode construir uma trajetória na perspectiva comunitária e da saúde pública. Abstract: This study aims to examine how the main occupation of health Occupational Therapy was built in its brief trajectory in Curitiba and metropolitan region and proposals for action which have prevailed in the practices of professionals. The reason for the study is the unleashing of thoughts, about the possibilities of strengthening and growth of the Occupational Therapy profession as socially important in the field of public health. The study is based on document analysis for the construction of the profession in the region and structured interviews with five experienced professionals in the training of occupational therapists in Brazil. The analysis of the data shows a small number of professionals in the region, working mainly in areas like mental health and rehabilitation, that the theoretical approaches and research are not yet clear object of study and that the profession has little built in relation to the political and social reality Brazil. The study suggests that the Occupational Therapy has two major challenges: one, the definition of a professional identity, and another, in building a focused speech to the Brazilian reality. Deduce that profession, training for the field of health, can build a trajectory in the context of the community and public health.
