Considering global energy needs and the importance of emitting fewer greenhouse gases, a study was carried out on ways to generate energy from clean, renewable sources. Currently, most of the energy we consume comes from non-renewable energy sources, raising concerns about environmental impact. Among the various sources of clean and renewable energy available, solar energy is the most promising due to its abundance and potential use. Organic photovoltaic devices (OPVs) have attracted industrial and academic interest for their flexibility, semi-transparency, and innovative products. In this work, an application of OPVs in urban equipment was studied. Outdoor tests were carried out with the electrical characterization of commercial OPVs produced in Brazil using the roll-to-roll technique by obtaining characteristic curves of current density by voltage (J x V). The results obtained in this work demonstrate that OPVs are a viable option for energy generation, presenting a considerable performance and diversifying the use of photovoltaic energy as an energy source.
