Por que me vestem com roupas emprestadas? : as adaptações de Macbeth para os quadrinhos

Abstract

Resumo: Essa pesquisa buscou compreender em que medida as quadrinizações de obras literárias refletem pontos de vista distintos que foram construídos ao longo da história. Mais especificamente, procurou verificar quais são as concepções das adaptações para os quadrinhos da tragédia Macbeth, de William Shakespeare, publicadas no Brasil. Para isso, foram selecionadas oito quadrinizações de períodos históricos distintos: dos anos 1950, da Editora EBAL; dos anos 1960 e 1980, uma adaptação que foi publicada em três editoras diferentes - Continental, Vecchi e DArte; por fim, dos anos 2000, das editoras Ática, Companhia Editora Nacional, Larousse, Nemo, Grafset e DCL. Foi escolhida a cena da profecia das bruxas (ato 1, cena 3) para a análise comparativa de cada uma das adaptações. O estudo teve como alicerces as proposições teóricas de autores como: Linda Hutcheon, Robert Stam, Julie Sanders, Andreia Guerini e Tereza Virgínia Ribeiro Barbosa, Irina Rajewsky, Claus Clüver, Gérard Genette, Antônio Luiz Cagnin e Will Eisner, entre outras reflexões críticas a respeito da tragédia escocesa e da relação das imagens e da arte gráfica com o roteiro. Pôde-se observar uma variedade de soluções plásticas e textuais nos diferentes momentos estudados. Na riqueza de olhares e de intertextos tramados nas adaptações investigadas, notou-se a influência do contexto histórico, da indústria cultural e da proposta das editoras na busca da formação de um público leitor específico. Abstract: This research sought to understand to what extent comic book adaptations of literary works reflect different points of view that were constructed throughout history. More specifically, it sought to ascertain what are the conceptions of the comic books of William Shakespeare's tragedy, Macbeth, published in Brazil. To achieve this, eight comic book adaptations from distinct historical periods were selected: from the 1950s, by Editora EBAL; from the 1960s and 1980s, an adaptation that was published by three different publishers - Editora Continental, Editora Vecchi and Editora D-Arte; finally, from the years 2000, from Editora Ática, Companhia Editora Nacional, Editora Larousse, Editora Nemo, Editora Grafset and Editora DCL. The scene of the prophecy of the witches (Act 1, scene 3) was chosen for the comparative analysis of each of the adaptations. The study was based on the theoretical propositions of authors such as: Linda Hutcheon, Robert Stam, Julie Sanders, Andreia Guerini and Tereza Virgínia Ribeiro Barbosa, Irina Rajewsky, Claus Clüver, Gérard Genette, Antônio Luiz Cagnin and Will Eisner, among other critical reflections concerning the Scottish tragedy and the relation of the images and the graphic art with the script. It was possible to observe a variety of plastic and textual solutions in the different moments studied. In the richness of perspectives and intertexts woven into the adaptations investigated, it was possible to notice the influence of the historical context, the cultural industry and the proposal of the publishers in the search of the formation of a specific readership.
