    Abstract

Abstract: Rock masses are defined as the in-situ environment which is made up of intact rock, structures, and different types of discontinuities. Since the end of the 19th century, these rock masses have been classified according to their geomechanical behavior and, over the years, quantitative systems aimed at these classifications were created and consolidated. Since then, these systems have been progressing constantly to meet different requirements, facilitate its use and save time and expenses, as far as possible. Indirect methods for data acquisition can often collaborate to this purpose, therefore, the aim of this study was to contribute to the knowledge of the acquisition of the necessary parameters in the most used geomechanical classification systems (RMR, Q and GSI) using the following well logging techniques: acoustic televiewer, full wave form sonic probe and heat-pulse flowmeter probe. To this end, narrative and integrative reviews of the bibliography have been used, allowing to identify that, among the analyzed probes, the most effective and promising for the acquisition of data has been the acoustic televiewer logging, that managed to get 8 of the 12 parameters for the RMR system, 3 of the 6 for the Q system and 2 of the 2 for the GSI system; sonic probe, on the other hand, has some disadvantages because of its limitations regarding the orientation of the discontinuities and thereat, since almost all the parameters linked to these structures are spoil. Even so, it reports good results, because it has an acquisition rate of 42% of the necessary parameters in the RMR system, 33% in the Q system and 0% in the GSI system, due to the mentioned factor. Flowmeter sounding, in contrast, only provides data related to water and, therefore, it is a complementary technique. In any case, it is recommended that indirect methods be applied with direct methods, and/or even correlated with each other to generate more robust and reliable data
