Abstract: This research has as its theme the training process of music teachers who work in a Brazilian Waldorf School. In the Waldorf Schools there is a strong presence and appreciation of music throughout the school organization, which makes them differentiated in relation to the performance of the music teacher and how he perceives his teaching identity, his relationship with the school community and music teaching. Thus, as the general objective of this work, we sought to understand conceptions and practices of musical teaching and learning that permeated the formative trajectory of music teachers who work in a Waldorf School. And as specific objectives: contextualize and historicize the training of music teachers in Brazil; trace a narrative of the life story and musical training of music teachers working at the Waldorf School, contextualizing the times and places described in the narrative; understand how training to perform in the Waldorf School, based on the theoretical and philosophical precepts of Rudolf Steiner, was integrated into the conception and practice of teaching and musical learning of the participants; and to verify the ways in which music teachers work at the Waldorf School and their interaction with other people in the school routine. For that, a biographical narrative research was carried out with music teachers working in Waldorf School. In the data collection, narrative interviews, documents, materials and artifacts of the participants and observations of the teaching performance, recorded in a field notebook, were used. Data were organized and analyzed into themes, generating the chronological construction of the narrative and thematic organization of observations recorded in the field. It is concluded that the conceptions and practices of teaching and learning music, which permeated the formative trajectory of the teachers participating in the study, were gradually being re-signified after entering the Waldorf School. From a conception of music as a subject with less prestige in the curriculum and practices that frustrated them as teachers, since they felt devalued, to a conception of music as a fundamental element in the curriculum and school routine and multiple musical practices that instigate them as teachers to always study and seek professional improvement at the Waldorf School. Musical training since childhood, including family, school, religion, music classes, together with academic training in music, influenced the teachers' teaching activities. But, in addition, the Waldorf school environment, based on the theoretical precepts of Rudolf Steiner, brings to the teachers' school practice a specific quality of these schools, both with regard to the implementation of the Waldorf curriculum, as well as the way of teaching. This happens even though the teachers do not have a specific course in Anthroposophy focused on music. In this way, the school culture of the Waldorf School proves to be conducive to the development of innovative musical teaching and learning concepts and practices that are, at the same time, consistent and in-depth by the teachers, who stand out in relation to musical teaching and learning practices. prevailing in the Brazilian scenario.
