O efeito da hipocrisia da marca na perspectiva da teoria do construal-level

Resumo: Muitas marcas se esforçam para apoiar ou atuar em causas que representam seus ideais e demonstram isso ao mercado. Entretanto, quando a ação da marca se torna incongruente com a imagem transmitida, ocorre a hipocrisia de marca. Assim, o consumidor é levado a ter afetos negativos sobre à marca. Todavia, a percepção dos consumidores sobre a hipocrisia de marca pode variar caso estejam distantes psicologicamente da vítima da hipocrisia e da marca. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar o efeito da hipocrisia da marca na intenção de compra e atitude à marca, mediado pelas emoções do consumidor e moderado pelo construal-level. Os resultados apresentados mostram que a marca hipócrita reduziu a intenção de compra e atitude à marca, que a intenção de compra e atitude positiva à marca foi menor para vítima da hipocrisia próxima do que para a vítima distante, e o afeto negativo mediou a relação entre a hipocrisia de marca e as variáveis dependentes. Para tal, foram realizados dois estudos experimentais. O presente trabalho contribui para que seja compreendido o fenômeno da hipocrisia de marca, para que as empresas entendam o impacto das emoções do consumidor sobre sua marca e atuar de forma mais consistente com seus reais valores. O trabalho avança na literatura de branding e a teoria do construal-level. Abstract: Many brands strive to support or act on causes that represent their ideals to and demonstrate this to the market. However, when brand action becomes incongruous with the transferred image, brand hypocrisy occurs. Thus, the consumer is led to have negative affects on the brand. However, consumers' perception of brand hypocrisy can vary if they are psychologically distant from hypocrisy and the brand. The objective of this work is to analyze the effect of brand hypocrisy on purchase intention and brand attitude, media by consumer emotions and moderator by construction level. The results presented show that the hypocritical brand reduced purchase intention and brand attitude, that purchase intention and positive brand attitude were lower for the victim of near hypocrisy than for the distant victim, and negative affect mediated the relationship between brand hypocrisy and dependent variables. To this end, two experimental studies were carried out. presents a contribution so that the brand functioning is configured more consistently so that companies understand the impact of consumer pressures on their brand and acting values in a way that is more consistent with their values. The work advances in the branding literature and the construction level theory.
