Apoio pedagógico na assistência estudantil das universidades estaduais do Paraná : possibilidades, iniciativas e limitações

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho apresenta uma pesquisa de mestrado sobre o apoio pedagógico ao discente no Ensino Superior. Tem como objetivo descrever os atendimentos pedagógicos ofertados pela assistência estudantil das universidades estaduais do Paraná. A pesquisa justifica-se pela necessidade de atendimento nos vários âmbitos da vida estudantil, visando o apoio e a superação das vulnerabilidades emergentes, bem como a promoção à permanência e ao desenvolvimento humano integral para os estudantes, evitando situações de retenção e evasão durante o percurso em que estão inseridos no Ensino Superior. Ações pedagógicas em diferentes níveis podem ajudar nesse processo, contribuindo com a integralização curricular e a melhora no processo de aprendizagem, dentre outros fatores. Entretanto, há muitos desafios na efetivação desse trabalho no ambiente universitário, como a formação de profissionais, a legitimação do trabalho dentro das instituições e a fundamentação teórica do trabalho do pedagogo no Ensino Superior, que tem sido pouco evidenciada na literatura. O trabalho é inspirado nas contribuições da teoria histórico-cultural de Lev Vigotski (1896-1934) e suas possíveis contribuições e reflexões acerca do processo de desenvolvimento humano no Ensino Superior. Também são apresentadas as contribuições de Pascarella e Terenzini (1991, 2005) acerca das influências na aprendizagem do estudante. A metodologia utilizada nesta pesquisa foi um estudo de casos múltiplos, de caráter exploratório e descritivo. Os participantes foram profissionais responsáveis pelos serviços de atendimento ao estudante das respectivas instituições estaduais de Ensino Superior do Estado do Paraná. Para a coleta de dados, foram utilizados como instrumentos os documentos de domínio público encontrados nos sites das universidades e um questionário eletrônico. A análise do conteúdo foi fundamentada em Bardin (1977), a partir da qual evidenciaram-se as seguintes categorias temáticas caracterizando o apoio pedagógico desenvolvido nas instituições paranaenses: setorização da assistência estudantil; legislação e regimentos sobre a assistência estudantil e apoio pedagógico; caracterização das ações de apoio pedagógico; profissionais que fazem parte das equipes; planejamentos com relação ao apoio pedagógico; e demandas e dificuldades na opinião dos participantes. A partir da análise pode-se perceber que a organização e regulamentação da assistência estudantil nas universidades, de modo geral, é uma questão decisiva para a concretização de um apoio pedagógico atento às necessidades de aprendizagem e integração dos estudantes. Destaca-se o esforço por parte das instituições em realizar as ações, pois percebeu-se que, mesmo com dificuldades e limitações, as universidades realizam intervenções junto aos estudantes. Ao mesmo tempo, em alguns casos notou-se a necessidade de compreensão do que é o apoio pedagógico no Ensino Superior e quais as diversas maneiras pelas quais se pode auxiliar esse processo, facilitando a aprendizagem dos estudantes e promovendo sua permanência nos cursos. É necessária a atuação do profissional da Pedagogia com formação didática, de planejamento, de práxis educativa e de concepção de educação para a humanização. Conclui-se que respaldar o apoio a partir de concepções de educação e planejar as ações de acordo com os valores institucionais relacionados ao tripé universitário ensino-pesquisaextensão é uma necessidade e uma urgência.

Abstract: This work presents a master’s research on pedagogical support to students in Higher Education. Its objective is to describe the pedagogical services offered by the student assistance of the state universities of Paraná. The research is justified by the need for care in the various spheres of student life, aimed at supporting and overcoming emerging vulnerabilities, as well as promoting permanence and integral human development for students, avoiding situations of retention and evasion during the course in which they are inserted in Higher Education. Pedagogical actions at different levels can help in this process, contributing to curriculum integration and improvement in the learning process, among other factors. However, there are many challenges in the implementation of this work in the university environment, such as the training of professionals, the legitimization of work within institutions and the theoretical foundation of the work of the pedagogue in higher education, which has been little evidenced in the literature. The work is inspired by the contributions of the historicalcultural theory of Lev Vigotski (1896-1934) and his possible contributions and reflections on the process of human development in higher education. Also presented are the contributions of Pascarella and Terenzini (1991, 2005) about the influences on student learning. The methodology used in this research was a study of multiple cases, of exploratory and descriptive character. The participants were professionals responsible for the student services of the respective state institutions of Higher Education of the State of Paraná. For data collection, the public domain documents found on the universities' websites and an electronic questionnaire were used as instruments. The content analysis was based on Bardin (1977), from which the following thematic categories were evidenced, characterizing the pedagogical support developed in the institutions of Paraná: sector of student assistance; legislation and regiments on student assistance and pedagogical support; characterization of pedagogical support actions; professionals who are part of the teams; planning regarding pedagogical support; and demands and difficulties in the opinion of the participants. From the analysis it can be seen that the organization and regulation of student assistance in universities, in general, is a very decisive issue for the implementation of a pedagogical support attentive to the needs of learning and integration of students. The effort of the institutions to carry out the actions stands out, because it was realized that, even with difficulties and limitations, universities somehow carry out interventions with students. At the same time, in some cases it was noted the need to understand what is pedagogical support in Higher Education and what are the various ways in which it can help in this process, facilitating and assisting students' learning and promoting their permanence in the courses. It is necessary to act the professional of the Pedagogy with didactic training, of planning, of educational praxis and of conception of education for the humanization. It is concluded that supporting support from educational conceptions and planning actions according to institutional values related to the teaching-research-extension university tripod is a necessity and an urgency.
