A apropriação da epistemologia de Thomas Kuhn e Ludwik Fleck nas pesquisas científicas brasileiras : um panorama da área da saúde

Abstract

Resumo: A publicação da obra de Thomas Kuhn "A Estrutura das Revoluções Científicas", em 1962, foi um marco importante para a concepção da imagem contemporânea da ciência. Neste livro, Kuhn fez uma breve referência a Ludwik Fleck, médico polonês, que o teria influenciado. As aproximações conceituais existentes entre Kuhn e Fleck, apesar de conferirem um caráter de similaridade entre seus pensamentos, também são marcadas por divergências. Tendo em vista que este livro de Kuhn foi considerado um dos mais influentes do século XX e que Fleck tem sido cada vez mais estudado no Brasil, este estudo investiga como e por que pesquisadores brasileiros da área da saúde têm se apropriado da epistemologia de Ludwik Fleck e Thomas Kuhn, em um mesmo trabalho. Para o alcance deste objetivo, foi realizada uma pesquisa de natureza qualitativa, do tipo estado do conhecimento. Os dados foram constituídos no Portal de Periódicos e no Catálogo de Teses e Dissertações da Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES). Buscaram-se teses, dissertações e artigos que abordavam Fleck e Kuhn em um mesmo trabalho, sendo encontradas 11 pesquisas da área de saúde que foram interpretadas por meio da Análise de Conteúdo. As análises possibilitaram traçar um panorama geral das pesquisas e indicaram como um dos principais problemas encontrados pelos pesquisadores a tendência positivista que norteia a formação em saúde. Além disso, foi constatado que as categorias Fleckianas 'Coletivo e Estilo de Pensamento' foram as mais abordadas nos trabalhos analisados. Os pesquisadores estabeleceram semelhanças entre as epistemologias de Kuhn e Fleck, porém não discutiram as diferenças existentes nas teorias dos autores. Como contribuição da nossa pesquisa, sugerimos que os estudos epistemológicos sejam mais difundidos na área da saúde possibilitando a realização de discussões críticas dos saberes e práticas, melhoria na formação profissional e o início de movimentos de mudanças tão necessários para o avanço e desenvolvimento da saúde no Brasil.

Abstract: The publication of Thomas Kuhn's "The Structure of Scientific Revolutions" in 1962 was an important milestone to the conception of the contemporary image of Science. In this book, Kuhn made a short reference to Ludwik Fleck, a polish physician, that would have influenced him. The conceptual proximities between Kuhn and Fleck, despite giving a similarity character between their thoughts, are also marked by divergences. Considering that Kuhn's book was considered one of the most influential of the 20th century and Fleck is increasingly studied in Brazil, this study investigates how and why brazilian researchers in the health field have been appropriating the Ludwig Fleck's and Thomas Kuhn's epistemology in the same work. In order to reach the goal of this research, a knowledge type qualitative study was carried out. The data were constituted from Catalog of Theses and Dissertations of CAPES. Theses and articles that addresses Fleck and Kuhn in the same work were searched, and 11 researches in the health field was found and interpreted by means of context analysis. Analysis enabled to trace an overview of researchers and indicated that one of the major problems founded by the researchers was the positivist trend that guides health training. Furthermore, it was found that the Fleckian categories 'Style and Collective of Thought' were the most addressed in the analyzed works. The researches established similarities between the epistemologies of Kuhn and Fleck, but they didn't discuss the existing differences in the theories of these authors. As a contribution of our research, we suggest that epistemologic studies would be more widespread in the health field, making possible critic discussions about knowledge and practices, improvement in professional training and the beginning of change movements so necessary for advancement and development of Heath in Brazil.
