Abstract: Successive applications of dairy liquid manure (DLM) in the soil can intensify the risk of transporting phosphorus (P) to the water bodies, in addition to changing its behavior. Soil phosphorus fractionation and speciation of the soil solution are important to better understand the soil P dynamics. Also, the degree of phosphorus saturation (DPS), the environmental threshold for P, and soil phosphorus storage capacity (SPSC) are promising tools to predict the environmental pollution risk. The general aim of this research was to understand the dynamics of P in the soil submitted to long-term and short-term DLM applications. The research was divided into three studies with the following aims: 1) Obtain the DPS, define the environmental threshold for P, and calculate the SPSC in Oxisols of different textures, under no-tillage, subjected to longterm DLM application (10 years) and in native vegetation soils incubated with mineral fertilizer; 2) Evaluate the effect of successive DLM applications (10 years) in sandy clay loam texturel under no-till system to better understand the lability of P organic and inorganic fractions and consequently the availability for the soil solution; 3) Evaluate the effect of DLM application and mineral fertilization on the availability of elements in the soil solution and in the distribution of chemical species of P and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) over a year. The studies were carried out in a field (long-term DLM applications) and laboratory (short-term) experiments. The conclusions of these studies were as follows: 1) The methods to obtain the DPS were equivalent, and therefore Mehlich-1 extraction can replace ammonium oxalate, which is not a routine analyze. The threshold (P Mehlich-1) in the experiment with long-term DLM application was higher in the sandy clay loam soil compared to the clayey soil (152 and 75 mg kg- 1), however, with the ammonium oxalate the opposite was observed (315 and 544 mg kg-1). In the experiment with soil under native vegetation and incubation with mineral fertilizer, the threshold was higher in the clayey soil compared to the sandy clay loam soil (120 and 64 mg kg-1), however compared to the long-term experiment with DLM, the environmental threshold for P was higher in the sandy clay loam soil and smaller in the clayey soil. The range of DPS data interferes to obtain the threshold. The highest dose of DLM presented a negative SPSC in soils, therefore, represent a risk of P loss to the aquatic environment, being more evident in the sandy clay loam soil; 2) DLM application contributed with the total P, with the following average proportions in the P fractions: moderately labile (39 %), labile (30 %), low lability (16 %), and residual P (15 %). With the increase in the DLM dose, the labile fractions increased, reducing the low lability and residual P in the first two depths. Accumulation of P occurred in the geochemical fractions (~ 60 %), increasing with the addition of DLM and decreasing with the depth; 3) Orthophosphate forms of P predominated in both soils, influenced by pH, with H2PO4- in treatments with mineral fertilization and control, and HPO4-2 in treatments with DLM in the short term. The DOC species predominated in the free form in the treatments with DLM and linked to H + in the control and mineral treatments. The application of DLM increased the concentrations of Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Fe and the application of mineral fertilizer in the concentration of Pb. Application of DLM, results in the formation of variscite and tricalcium phosphate, which constitute H2PO4-, Al3+, and Ca2+ drains from the soil.pt_BR
